Just looking for ideas on what my 86 250r is worth. Have over 4,000 in the 363 LED built engine alone. The LED built big bore pipe and 40.5 PWK was another grand. Makes est. 65 hp on VP c12. Lost count on what I have into this build. I know I have over 8,000 for sure. Any ideas??

It's pretty hard to put a price on that peice of art ;) but you know what everyone says " you don't get back what you put in" and it also depends where you are, but I would say from what their going around here all done up nice around 4-6 grand maybe a little more but like I said it all depends

I hope this helps estimate the worth. Enjoy!:D

It's the toughest question anyone could ask of the machine that has had that much love poured into it..
What's it worth on your homeowner's insurance with all the receipts you have VS what would someone standing in your driveway kicking the tires throw down.
The difference would be in the $1000s!! Unfortunately it's the buyer that will answer your question..
Sad but true..
B E A utiful work!

Anything over $2000 ,,count your blessings. Obviously,,IF you can find the guy that is about to build one of these,,like that. He would pay more. Otherwise,,,she'll have to come back apart to see ANY fraction of what you have in her...

I payed 1900 and it was stock with a FMF pipe. I will take it to the grave with me before I sell it for 2,000

Sharp lookin rig but i think your gonna have a hard time getting even what you have into just the motor.
Parting it on ebay will prob get you the most money back.
If you have that much into it, i think your gonna be married to it for life unless you take a HUGE hit

As for the cr ignition, i never tried it on any of my bikes. What kind of hit does it give? Is it more of a topend pull? I have an ignition somewhere in my garage, might try it.
Worth more as parts. Its the sad reality of our machines. If it was 100% oem, then you would recoup your $$, but aftermarket parts are usually worth about 50% of retail in the eyes of the buyer, because they can buy the same thing and know exactly whats in it and that alone is worth the other 50% to some guys. The pristine oem parts can't be bought anymore and sell for three to four times what they did new sometimes even more than that.

Considering that absolutely beautiful machine...I hate to have to break your heart and agree with the general consensus, but ATC 250Rs just don't bring what TRXs do. I agree that $2000/2500 would be expected and MAYBE $3000 to just the right person...beyond that, best of luck to you, truly. I'd get buried with it myself...

I think a lot has too do with the area your in. Like I said around here I see stock looking ATC with FMF pipes going for 1500 to 2500. A part out may be the way to go.

Yeah I have $10,000 in my 86 total new motor from BDT with a esr 330,carb,pipe,axle all the trinkets paid $1500 for it 3 years ago redid everything Unless I personally new the seller or they new me and what I did I'd prob only get $4000 tops here maybe more if is a close friend that wants one. Basically if and when I bought a machine I figured the motor as being wore out no matter what the seller says $2000 for a stock motor and 3-4 for a BB. It really is like burning your money just alot of fun.

honestly I'd gonna say 3500 on craigslist selling it together. no one is gonna spend on a build bike, they will spend it on oem restored but not done up. you'r going to have to part it. what i dont like to see is people spend so much then decide to sell. i say only spend this much if your going to keep it.

Why are you selling it? Or are you just curious what it would bring?

Wow! Very nice R you have there. I have poured a ton of money into my 86 also. I realize to get most of my money back...I would have to part her out. I think you could fetch 3500-4000 for yours personally. It may take a while and just the right buyer still? Great job on that build......!!!!!!

I agree with all the above,, if that 250R was built with ALL NEW OEM HONDA parts only then would it be worth upwards of 10 grand . You have a beautiful bike but sadly I am not sure but maybe you can get half what you have in it since it is built with aftermarket parts but any bike is worth what a buyer is willing to pay. Maybe you can list it on ebay with a reserve just to see what kind of bid it would go for.
