Starter gear symptoms 250 es / sx??

We have our 5 core machines ready for the onslaught
of festivals.

GF's trike is a dream but starter gears sound just a little bit more
paranoid than the others.
Starts in under 2 seconds for sure so we're not dragging it at all.

Should I find something else to worry about?

I've heard they do shred and leave just a spectacular mess of metal in the bottom case.

Not a big deal to pop the side cover and take a look, leave it and your right it could fill the engine up with metal shavings.

I was gonna buy an engine back in the spring from a member, he wanted to go they the motor before jußt because he was hearing noise from the same are.

When he pulled the cover he found the starter reduction gear had chewed into the case and littered the engine..bummer.
