I can't seem to get part numbers on the ring and pinion gears :(. Seems like the 200cc moto 4 i86-89 will work. The 225 looks very similar. I checked 2 different brands of bearings and the both cover a HUGE selection of models for the complete bearing kit, so I suspect at least the guts interchange fairly well.

Does anyone any confirms or fails on this? I'm a deal hunter, so I like to look at other model parts to find them cheaper :). Looks like the 225 moto 4 vs the 225dx 3 wheeler are "clocked" different for the axle housing bolts, and the side the drive shaft goes in isn't the same.

Here is what the bearing kits say they fit, and links below.

Any input would be great! As always thanks for the help :).

The best thing to do is look up the part numbers and see if they match.

I did, can't find a source that gives the ring gear and pinion gear part numbers for this machine. Above there is a list of machines that use the same rear end bearing kit though, so theory would have it they are at least all similar.

Okay I just tore apart a spare swing arm I had out of a 84 225dxl and the ring gear has 29U stamped on it that's all the markings I could find.

I haven't dug too far, but of the models I posted above, there is at least 2 different versions, 2 piece (seems like most 350s have them), and the 200 I looked up was one piece. Not sure if the ring gears are the same width for the bearings etc or not though.

I suspect the 225 should be the closest to my 200, since you have it apart, could you take some photos of it? Mainly a good one to see the teeth of it, and a measured width along the axle. If possible, a photo and measurement of the splines that goes on the axle would help too.

I don't have mine apart yet, but I'm thinking the gears will interchange. Mine needs at least a bearing kit, probably the pinion is shot too.

I have a 250 rear end, central differential, good gear but axle is rusted in the spline,I can cut axle to ship

Shipping over the boarder would be pretty expensive sadly :(. Do you know if the 250 will interchange to the 200, and based on what experence/research? Besides the fact mine has issues, I would like to add the interchange on my site.

Check into the Yamahauler 200 diff. Like the Moto 4, it's a rigid frame 200 cc shafty
