check the rust under the cover that says 'CDi"
and of course, oil and see if there's a chain adjust and do a valve adjust.
The actual owners manual has pictures with arrows of what and when to look at.

Racks are always nice but some folks just don't like them.

How's it run right now?
Any problems?

If you want full suspension and disc brakes, your best bet is to find a 83-85 Honda 200x rolling chassis, and drop the 200s motor in there. This is known as a "auto x". You can try a search and it will give you lots of results on this. I have built a couple of them over the years, and they are the perfect all around fun machine, and very good in the snow too.

You would, but it would require a little modification/welding for the rack. There used to be bolt on hitches for the 200x on ebay, but don't know if there are any on there any more. Compared to a 200s, a 200x is 10x smoother ride, so if you really want suspension go for it, otherwise fix up the 200s and use it as it was made.

Do you have any specific questions? I own a 85 200s and a 83 200x. So i could help you on either to some extent.
