A guy is selling a 1986 tri z for $800, blown up, still turns over and has compression, full aftermarket dg exhaust, pro taper bars, plastics are mint, seat is torn, he doesnt know why it blew, he bought it like that and never did anything with it. Is $800 a good deal? Please respond asap

Blown up and still has compression isn't usually heard in the same sentence. Is the crank out of it? Only you can see, feel, and judge the bike., But a nice 86 at $700 ish should be a decent buy. Good luck !

what he said ^
yea thats a good deal for a Z...because if you can do it yourself and buy the parts depending on what is wrong it will only cost 100-200? so 1k into a Z and if its in good shape it could be worth over 1.5?

I should be a reaaaaly nice Z to pay 7-800 for blown up and like 007 said blown up and has compression makes you really scratch your head. Those kinda statements make me thing does the guy even know its 2 stroke and you have to mix the gas???? Shoot for closer to 500. The engine rebuild could stack up to 5-800 real quick if it needs a crank and a jug.

I gave $250 for one that was OEM complete but needed a top end, BUT, the only plastics that were good were the front fender and headlight shroud.

Fill your truck tank with some of that cheap $3.32 per liter MB gas and go kick it over. If it has squeeze and spark it can't be that bad, but make sure to also kick it while its in gear to make sure 'blown' isn't someone's way of saying it has something else major wrong. Looks like he has a few toys there.

The Z don't look *that* great, seat is ripped up atleast. Missing fork boot covers too. Personally I wouldn't give that much for it, I would target more around $300-500, since the engine don't run you can't tell if the trans is good or not, electronics, etc.

Def NOT close to a $800 bike, unless it just needs the carb cleaned and fresh fuel.

At the end of the day, if that guy wouldn't budge on his price I would give it (personally). We just DON'T get 86's in my area often. When we do, they are gone in a matter of hours. Just as long as EVERYTHING is 86 on that machine.

Ya like here Stonewall/Winnipeg area its rare to find a liquid cooled trike for a reasonable price, people are trying to sell their 1984 250rs for $2800. And another guy wants $3000 for his 350x, personally i like it and it looks better in person, the gearbox changes gears good, case isnt cracked or welded, everything looks good
