Ok, the little whore will only start with the airbox off and someones hand over the air intake. WTF??? plus, the homemade swingarm has NO provisions for chain adjusting. What it had was 2 chain rollers on 2 stupid plates and a spring. Well, I blew $40 at the bike shop to get a 420 chain and some new rollers. DAMNED if I could figure out how the hell it went together and what it did. So STUPIDLY i took another link out of the chain and now, its too focking short. I swear this thing is cursed. WHY WONT IT START?? first kick with a hand over the carb, it fires right up. I HATE THIS THING. I knew this would happen when I bought it.
Hmm.....jets extremely lean or rich??? Carb too big? Something ain't right if you have to choke it that bad! Hmmm.....

That's a lean mixture. Gonna have to do some carb tuning.

Sounds very lean.

no matter how lean its jetted it should idle at least,,,, pull the float bowl drain plug and turn on the gas to see if you have good fuel flow,,,,if you don't have good flow its probably in the petcock,,, if you do have flow them its time to pull the carb down,,, the pilot jet would have to be completely plugged to keep enough restriction that it wouldn't even idle,,,,, ,,,, but if it won't even fire with the choke out ,which is a direct bypass of all the jets i would say that your tank or petcock is plugged,,,,

WRONG, all of you. It has a brand new factory petcock, and it will Idle once running. So now what???? Im really most interested in this chain adjuster thingy. Mabey I wont even use it..???

it looks like they used a 84 or 85 200x swingarm that the adjustment is up front by the pivot bolt. the brake rotor.hubs and wheels look like old 200x parts. you could weld the back of a 86 or 87 swing arm to the one on the trike. or get it from any atv with the normal bearing carrier you turn to adjust the chain. that chain tensioner looks like one off the universal ones you can buy that will fit any bike.

"it" is a 1985 KX60 with a trike conversion kit on it. The kits used to be availabel out of dirt wheels mags and chit.

Holic, heres how to set of that chain tensioner of yours......alright, each of the wheels on the arms (top and bottom), the chain goes in the middle of both of these, so the top part of the chain is rubbing on the bottom part of the top wheel, and the bottom part of the chain is rubbing on the top of the bottom wheel, .........then there should be something sticing out each side of the wheel (either on the inside or outside) that each end of the spring connects to, the spring makes both the top and bottom rollers on the tensioner to press on the chain and make it so it is always tight

thats how I thought it worked too. only thing is, it pinched the chain too much. that is when I removed another link and now the chain is too short. ARGGGGGHHH.

ok. I put on the old chain, and put on the chain tensioner like I thought it went. After I choked it with my hand and warmed it up, I decided to take it for a spin in the road. (no brakes-I forgot about this!) anyway, the chain tensioner worked, the clutch is good, its a 5 or 6 speed. After I rode it up and down the road, I came back and it DID start right up without the hand, but Im sure it was because it was warm. The front end had a shimmy, and the steering stops gotta come off, barley could turn around. But its starting to come together. It sure was fun to ride! I still hate it though! cause it obviously hates me!

Yeah how much power does it have? I was looking at the tiger pics the other night, and I decided to look at the tiger 80, and I was wondering, why would you make an 80 threewheeler, when they mainly sell the 200/250/500? Then I read on and I thoght holy s%^&, it has 23 horsepower, and revvs to about 11,500 rpms, and a 6 speed tranny, and that it would smoke a 350x, know that is what I want for christmas. Just imagine pulling up beside someone on like a blaster, or 400ex or something and they see that the trike says 80 on it, and then you ask if they want to race, then they just start laughing. Well needless to say if my new $6000 quad was smoked buy an 80 threewheeler, I bet my friends would never let me hear the end of it, that would be awesome!

same as any other KX60, I guess, powerwise. Its actually apretty simple conversion. When my son outgrows this, im gonna try to do a CR80, and use some Maier red plastic.

I think Jeb posted one that was on ebay on here the other day. It should be on page 5 or so under "Has anybody seen this?"
I want a KX 60 trike. I rode a CR 60 that smoked my 400 Kodiak. Blew right by my own bike on it.
