Anyone have a 84 YTM 200 petcock they could part with? If so, let me know cost. Trying to get this thing ready for a 3 wheeler poker run on the 4th. Tearing into a new buy and found I cant even move the petcock, inline fuel filter so full of junk, and the tank so nasty it looked like someone pour dirt in the tank. Carb is fully cleaned and ready to go but not going back in place until everything else gets cleaned. Thanks!

You might try cleaning the petcock before buying a new one.
Also to clean out the tank I'd use a gallon of Apple Cider Vinegar, it will clean it out really well.
Pour it in shake it for 30-60 seconds and let it sit for 1-2hrs.
After that put a gallon of water with 1/4 cup baking soda in (pre mix in the cider vinegar jug) swish it around then empty the tank.
Let it dry for 1-2hrs then put in about 2 cups of gas to clean out the water, drain the tank.
Should be A LOT cleaner.

The filters on the petcock are shot. Not really sure how big of a deal that is since I have an inline fuel filter. Any suggestions?

If you take it apart it will free up but you might need new seals then. See rebuild kit in link below.

What ever you use to clean tank with ypu can add a large box of bb's then swirl it around. Don't get tank cleaner on you.

"ypu" should read "you".

Got the tank nice and clean. The BB idea worked great! Put the petcock on for now until a replacement is found or I rebuild it. It leaks pretty bad now. Also got bored and now have a Honda keyed ignition on the Yamaha :) Neutral light works but headlight doesn't. Guessing the bulb needs to be replaced. Took it for a spin around the yard and it ran fine. Hit the street and got two block away and it died. Couldn't get it restarted so towed it home and let it sit. Started right up a bit later. Any ideas? I do'nt know if the petcock chokes off fuel but nothing is running out of the overflows when this happens.

Hello cableguysf

Sounds like fuel starvation.

Debris in petcock?

Petcock failure because it is now leaking?

Is your inline filter clear?

Is there gas in it when it does this?

Install a clear one if yours is not.

"Is there gas in it when it does this?" should read "Is there gas in the inline filter when it does this?".

the inline filter is clear plastic, free of debris, and has fuel in it when it dies. Happened again today and after
messing with the petcock it started right up. I ran it for a half hour with no issues. Petcock rebuild kit will be
here tomorrow. Neutral light stopped working today so hope there is a bulb in it. Seems to also smoke quite a
bit when running. This normal?
