can someone please help me with the proper route of the throttle cable in an 85 200x? pics would be awesome, but an explanation would be fine. tried it six different ways, and getting frustrated. i would prefer it to be right, and i hate guessing. thanks.

really, no one can do me a solid??? im not being a jerk. i searched the threads. nothing. i have the manuel, it says how important the route is, then doesn't tell you what it is. it just says to install it the same way you remove it.. wasn't written with a 30 year outlook. hook me up!!

It's funny you asked this question, I was wondering this myself tonight! Somebody please look at their 83-85 200x and let us know.

I'm at work right now. So I can't look. If I remember it just goes between the triples. Follows the top tube of the frame under the gas tank to the carb.

I have an 83 x but I don't know if its correctly in place. I'm still working on it from the PO. I'll take a picture when I'm home, I'm at the woman's house for tonight/tomorrow though.
Redsox. Keep calm and chive on. I'll look at my 200x tomorrow and get you on the right track.

Is this what you found in the manual?

Wasent sure if it went down the starboard side, or the port side, and wasn't sure where it crossed over the top. Thanks for the help.

it is not in my manuel, and thank you. I had it wrong. My manuel is a clymer, and, apparently, not as good.

I just routed mine a few weeks ago. It goes right up the frame rail. I think it crosses the frame rail where the carb is, then runs up the top. There is a hook tab that will secure it. Then right up to the bars. As long as you can fully turn right and left without it pulling, it is fine.
