I'm currently rebuilding my 85' 200x engine and I want to get a xr200cam for it. Does anybody know what years xr200 cam will fit?

Any of the older ones should. I think 84 or 85 had the dual intake so that one won't work. Just search a little bit and you will find it. I forget what year mine came from

Why not buy an aftermarket one? Plus you can get it from mild to wild depending on you build. IMO that was a cheap in the era upgrade for a stock motor. Back when you could grab it over the counter at the local Honda shop.

I would say most people are fine with just a little extra out of it. I will be doing a larger cam in the near future along with other goodies. But as a mild hop up for your average trail rider, it's plenty

Yep an '84 will work it turns out the '85 had the dual intake. I can order a new one for $85.00 Motorsport.com. I also thought about getting an aftermarket one but I do mostly trail riding and ripping around so I just want it to bolt right in and be reliable.

I also have the xl185 cam, maybe it's just me but I didn't really notice a difference between the two. Probably show a little on a dyno. Maybe I'll swap back to that one again and see if I notice anything
