Anyone know of someone who can rebuild or has a descent rebuilt that they are willing to part with? Snapped mine in half today. Thanks

If you can't find one, a warrior shock will fit.

Snapped it in half? I'm not quite sure what you mean but it sounds beyond rebuilding. Unfortunately the Tri-Z shock only allows for a limited rebuild because there is no way to replace the seal head. The shim stack is held on with the flatted end of the shock shaft, not a nut. Sounds like you will have to replace the entire shock.

I don't believe the Z shock is completely rebuildable. I was inquiring about this from a local rebuilder and he didn't have any solutions for the OEM..

Again.. I could be wrong since that was all from the rebuilder....

the shaft snapped right under the ring at the top. Pretty sure its not rebuildable. what im looking for is either a good shock that has been rebuilt recently, or for someone who can produce and rebuild one for me. even if you might know someone it would be a big help. Thanks

YOu will need to go to either an OEM ( not available ) or go with either an aftermarket or a Warrior shock. They are essentially identical. I've heard of people putting a Raptor shock on there, but lots of fab needed to be done so that the fuel tank guard cleared the remote reservoir.

Do you know if a newer warrior shock will work? Say 03? I think I can get one from the dealer. Also do you know if it will bolt right on and no mods? Thanks.

Z shocks are VERY rebuildable and very upgradable too. Here is an article I wrote on Z shock rebuilding: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/content.php/317-Tri-Z-Frankenshock...-Cheap-and-affective-shock-build
and a link to a build thread to walk you through it too: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/138508-Tri-Z-Frankenshock-2-BUILD-THREAD!.

And here is a few picks of a Frankenshock I did with a Race Tech Gold Valve and rebound separator nut, Eibach spring, and my very own bladder conversion! I have built 2 of these, one for me, and one for a friend (Tri-zNate), and both have performed beyond expectations!

Jon is proably the best way to go if he can help you out, as his shock is much stronger than the stock Z. Otherwise by a blown shock off ebay and have Shawn (sblt500r) here on the boards rebuild it. Heck Shawn might even have a spare shaft he can sell you in order to rebuild yours. I had Shawn rebuild my Z shock a few months ago and it came out awesome. I think he charged me around $180 and that included all new pivot bearings top and bottom. Looks and feels just like new. He does awesome work.
