I hope everyone has Merry Christmas, and remembers why we celebrate it. Holidays can be difficult sometimes, and I especially wish the true spirit of the holiday for those going through trying times. The birth that I celebrate, and the hope that it brings, allows me to handle and deal the death of a loved one. Tonight I attended a church service celebrating the birth of Christ, all the while keeping in mind that I will be returning to the same church on Saturday in a funeral service for my brother. We continue on, with the hope that the birth we celebrate allows the person we mourn to defeat death.

I wish everyone a joyful Christmas, full of hope, and the true Christmas spirit. Happy Birthday, Jesus!

We do not take a collection in the Christmas services. Our church is supported by our members, and not our vistors. Our operating expenses, including the building's expenses and utilities, money used for community projects, and pastoral salary for 2003 were $22,724. Our income including collections, yard sales, bake sales, and other fund raising activities manned by church members, and other donations totalled $23,900.

I can only assume you made such a comment because you are not informed, or misinformed. Our financial needs are met. We would much rather receive a visitor with no money, than a donation without the giver. Leave your wallet at home. Its you, we want.

I agree 100%. Our church is the same way. The church is there to bring people to know the Lord. The regular members do the donations that keep the church going. At our Christmas Services NO offerings are taken. Visitors are welcomed with open arms.
