So here is my next project... Meet the twins

Now these two will be going through a little more intensive care than my rider...
I plan to get them stripped down to bare frame and rebuild them from the ground up.
Now this might take some time... I plan on getting the parts on my next turn around
26-27th~ish of August. And the rebuild might not happen until next summer.
It all depends on how things play out and if I can get certain things done in time.

You must really love those things. Your in for a lot of work, but its worth it. Cant wait to see, im still learning about these not so popular trikes.

Yea, I have taken a likening to these beasts. Trust me, if you rode one you would hard pressed to go back to a Big Red...
Mind you it's all about application... I'm not into the racing or dune-ing. The Taurus is a really nice machine for the bush.
All round it feels nice when riding. The only issue I have found thus far is it's loudness when revving up... but I just call that "bear deterrent" :D

One day if i come across one ill snag it up because i like to just go for a nice ride out the mountain and stick to trails. Plus i never rode a big red so id probably stick with that. Trikes are just about non existent in my area. I have not seen one in 10 years or so. So it turns a lot of heads. Hows the power on these things? I know they can haul a ton but besides that. Hell, when you complete them you should make a video introducing these machines, features, riding it, etc. The only thing people really know is the specs on them.

ODG (Ontario Drive and Gear) and Argo was their plastics maker and distributor.

That seems like it goes a decent speed. Around here trails are rough and washed out, you can only go so fast so i see no need for a huge fast bike. It seems the Taurus would be a good trike. Isnt it fully automatic?

Yea, it's a belt driven centrifugal clutch that gets converted to an automatic gearing transmission.
You can choose H/L/N/R.

Cool machines; I haven't seen these before. What kind of engines powering them?

Briggs and Stratton 2cylinder I believe. Did some searching the other day. I think it also said that they produced 8hp? That trans set up was way ahead of it's time.

Yea, you right on most of that... the engine produces 16HP, but the way the gears work, it lowers in to 8HP with High Torque on the low range.
Not sure on the High range, but it puts out enough. It's a work horse, not a speed daemon.

That machine doesn't disappoint. It rides nice(fully suspended) stops good(discs on the rear) and has plenty of grunt to move it's heavy frame around. It's a bit loud but has a nice Harley sound when idling. I wouldn't want to put it against a BR for a pull competition.

they would probably out pull a BR
