I bought my 250r back in march. I rode it once and since it was in rough shape I decided to completely restore it. the bike is just about finished. just can't get it to run right. I bored the cylinder to a 69mm because it had a slight scar in it when I bought it. also I have a cylinder spacer which was also on it when I bought it. I'm running boyeson reeds, k&n air filter with no air box. I am currently running an fmf pipe until Eddie sanders finishes a center mount pipe for me. the throttle response is horrible and it Boggs out when I throttle it, but when I let off it kind of jumps like it wants to take off. I'm
assuming it's the jetting that is the issue. what should I run for jetting?

What size carburetor/Jets are you currently running and what clip are you running the needle on?

holy s***!!! 185 main jet!?? what were they running alcohol?? lol as i posted in an earlier thread the stock jetting for an 85 atc 250r is....

main #142
pilot #52

it will prob need to be a lil differant than these but these are stock numbers... id say try a 140 main and a 50 pilot see what that does.. or put a flat slide on it.. i hear the best carbs to use on R engines are the "D" slides .. i cant afford one right now but i will have one sometime soon and i will be posting about it.. hope u get it fixed bud.. oh,, and,, look and see what the number is on the needle.. it should be something like a 1469 or something like that i believe..the needle has the most to do with how it comes on.. but first it shoud be jetted correctly.. good luck bud
