My school has had a sudden boom in our ag program, surprising, considering were a rural community.:wondering
But I talked to my small engine repair teacher today, and later in the year I will be able to bring my 83' 185s up to the school for demonstrations.
Good thing, it needs some work. Lol.
I will also use it for welding, making some rack mounts for it while it's there.
I also thought of maybe next year buying a trike and doing a "Ag built" trike. Have welding make some accesories, Auto tech do the body and paint, and small engine do engine work. Thats still just a thought though.
I thought I'd just share and ask if anybody has done the same.

Very, very cool. My "small engine" shop at Tech was strictly for trimmers and mowers.... Till I got there :) My Professor was a old Polaris dealer. A lot of the "city kids" were just there for a grade, and the 2 of us REALLY there to learn a trade were both big time riders. So,,his course featured a 8 week sled program after we left our 2 year tenure :) We did a Suzuki Quad Sport rebuild,A 74 Polaris 340 ground up restore. Worked on a little blonde hotties Kawi 3 cylinder 2 stroke that was cutting out in the rain{ Plug caps :)} Lol,,that was a big deal back then?!..Great times.... Enjoy yourself!! Sounds like you def will !!

I wish I had opportunities like that in school. Or... I wish I had taken the opportunities I was given. Especially in college.

Our vo-tech school you could bring in your car to the autobody shop and get it painted and only have to pay for paint. Same goes for all the shops, just pay for materials. This got me thinking, i wonder if the one shop that works on cars would consider atvs. :naughty:

We had an awesome shop teacher. For some reason I didn't take his class until Senior year. He wrote in my yearbook, "I truly wish I had you in shop 1,2 and 3, I'm sure you'll do well" I got my motor together first and it ran, it was great (no ATC crate motors though )
He would let the past graduates just pop in and show us some motor they built etc etc, Then the classes got into the wild kids.
School installed metal detectors and patrolled the grounds. Never saw Mr. Newman again and then the school dropped all the wood, shop and cooking classes claiming lack of funds. This was 1990.....
