So, any of you ever use a Dial-A-Jet? What are your opinions? Seems like alot people like them for their sleds. Thinking about maybe getting one for each of my R's come bonus time...

Are you talking about the Dick's racing intelijet stuff? If so, I have no experience but have gone back and forth with it on my KTM250SX. From what I hear, they work great, when they work. Otherwise, they are a leaky mess. I decided the KTM is fast enough.

I think he means this. http://www.thunderproducts.com/dial_a_jet.htm I've thought about it but have no experience.

hmmmm 75$. I havent talked to anyone that has run one, but I know they have been something people i ride with have mentioned but knew little about. I originally looked into one of those a few months ago and ended up stumbling onto the Smart Carb craze before i got very far with any research lol

I have had one on my shelf for 7 years now. Bought it for my Tri-Z, and just never installed it. I couldn't find anyone who had used it on a bike, just like you are asking for. ALL the testimonials I have read online are good, but I needed to hear it from someone I "know."

After reading about it, sounds like just an easier method to dial in your jetting on the fly (as if the name didn't already say that duh?). If I was going through the trouble of an external fuel line with dial thingy, I would try the intelijet at Dicks Racing first - as that is actually a power adder. The MXA crew raved about the insane difference it made on a brand new KTM - but it ain't $75. In the end, I've got 49HP on the KTM, I don't "need" more, especially if it comes with complications.
The APT Smart Carb and PSI's Big Air carb are basically carbs made out of dial a jets. These are popularly ran on drag bikes on the Lectrons as a way to fine tune fuel delivery. My buddy has two of them in the carb on his 685 Zilla. I've also seen them used on shifter karts, hill climber bikes, etc. It's basically a second pilot and main jet all in one. Once tuned properly it'll be great for if you go from low to high altitudes you don't have to physically change jets. Plus it helps improve throttle response as well.
I haven't gotten to play with one yet but it seems simple enough.
Oh and the Smart Carb is a metering rod design if I remember right where as the Big Air is 3 dial a jets. But both work on the same principles

Thanks for the input guys and keep it coming.
The main reason I looked them up is I was talking to MIK6 about his Tecate's yesterday and it seems he has a jetting issue. During the course of the conversation I found out from him that it is a major PITA to do even a main jet change with a Tecate running OEM airbox and intake. I suggested he look into a Dial-A-Jet to make it easier to tune his Tecate's. Sounds like you start with a ballpark jetting setup, maybe a tad rich, then fine tune with the Dial-A-Jet.
I would be interested not so much for the claims of added power, but the ability to easily fine tune my jetting from one ride to the next. Sometimes it's 90 deg when I go riding, other times it's 60. Seems like a sound concept and if it just does that satisfactorily, any possible increase in performance is a bonus in my eyes.. Like I said, I have heard of them alot in the sled world and most seem to like it. Was just wondering if anyone in the dirt world ran them successfully and if the snorkel kit works like it should to keep dust and dirt out.

For the record I would sell my dial-a-jet for what I have in it, $60. Lol.
