Going to look at 85 BR 250es for sale.

I have been looking for a 250 ES for a long time. I found one up here in Ontario for a good deal (I think) $800. I have had a 125m ,185s and still have a 200x(needs new motor) but not familiar with the BR. the add says it is not currently and needs some minor assembly required, carb and wiring etc. The machine looks great but with not running and needing card work worried I might get in over my head. I was hoping to find one in good working order with shot plastics but not around me, this one is about 2 hours drive for me and I want to be prepared before I go. any help would be greatly appreciated.

$800 seems high for a non-runner..

I personally have never gotten off cheaper buying a fixer and doing the work.

Buying one in good shape works out better!

The price does seem a bit steep. Have you seen pictures of it? Not trying to discourage you, but $800 would buy a runner around here. Either way, best of luck to you.

cosmetically looks great tires nice plastics look new. from the pic no leaks on head gasket. just worried about wiring and motor. I think your right wait to find one running. any one know of one in sw Ontario?

Carb work wouldnt be bad to me but wiring issues would scare me. Im not good with that stuff. Talk to him, tell him if he gets it running you will pay his asking price and see if it works. If not keep it on the back burner and in mind. Maybe he wont sell it in a month and you can low ball him.
