Not sure what uyou mean exavctly/
(sorry for this keyboard)
you mean a 'hit 'n miss' engine?
The sound of them running would put me to sleep.
Simply LOVE them.
1800 technology. Peanut oil, diesel, kerosene, distillate, nail polish remover...
run forever pumping water etc
Can you post an audio file for us to smile about?

Sorry, auto correct got me on the title. It's a Witte hit'n miss. It's off in his field and were thinking about getting the bulldozer and tractor and pulling it out.

love those hit n miss engines. we just got rid of one of the ones we had. they're quite valuable, actually. we still have a 2 cylinder hit n miss motor from a maytag washing machine. my grandfather converted it into a generator for their desert trips in the 1960's. pretty neat!

I think his is pretty big. Best we can figure is it weight 6-800 lbs. It would have been used for logging back in the day. He has a track hoe we're going to yank it out of the mud and bring it up to the shop and get some info off of it.
