Hello 3WW people,
I rode trikes lots when I was a kid in the 80s. mostly Big Red 200s and 250s. Then we got a Kawasaki 4x4 which i thought was awesome.
I got kids now and im trying to give them some outdoor fun. My brother found a Big Red 200es in good shape for $350 this spring and fixed it up to make it run up and down the mountain at my acreage in BC. So not wanting to out-do him too bad I found a nice YTM 200 for $600 by Edmonton. It had a bogging issue that gave me some grief immediately but I sorted that out when I found a crushed/melted vent line tube going to the carb. now it runs great. It needed some TLC so I got to work on the plastics which had been painted terribly, just put on some factory decals and some odds and ends but this is turning into a great Trike. Never rode a Yamaha before this one but its great!! Wheelies like nothing and sits a little taller than the Big Reds. Feels "sportier" than a Big Red too, but parts seem alot harder to find. Anyway Im gonna rebuild the forks and I came across this site doing a web search. I'll be on here for quite sometime I imagine. The trike has become a fun little project for me. I'd love to buy a brand new Can-Am Outlander but seriously for $12000 and up they are way too much quad for what I need. These trikes, especially the utility trikes can go damn near anywhere a quad can and they are so affordable if you can find one in good shape. This seems like a great site. See you guys around!
