2 owner, guy claims it is the last year they made them 86 or 87? http://springfieldil.craigslist.org/sno/4071453001.html

That looks like a 1986. An easy way to distinguish the years is by looking at the starter casing. The 1987 had a 'tear drop' starter housing, where-as the 1985 and 1986 had a different design.
This is in assumption the engine is original.

I agree with IronBear, that's the way I learned to tell the difference at a quick glance. Little helpful thing to remember next time.

So did you get a look at it CapWeazy? Doesn't that price seem ALOT high, or is that what great condition BR's are going for now?

judging from Tank Decals, I would say 1986

Wonder why so many people can't just bend down and look at the sticker on the neck??
Here's a guy that thinks he's selling an 86 250ES..not even in the right ball park!

I would pay $2000 for that any day. You don't find them that nice in NH...

Didn't go look at it but it is in fact an 86 judging by the tank decals. I would be interested in it if it was an 87

Just went and looked at this big red. I passed. I thought just maybe if it was an 87 I would pop on it since my 87 rear fenders are crappy looking.
Its about a solid 7.5 for condition. The front fender, rack and seat is nice. Both plastic side covers are nice. Still has tool kit under the seat. Tires are wore but original. Tank has a small dimple in it but clean inside. Handlebars are bent down.
Seller is super nice.

I know people think they can get $2000 for them not in my experience. I have restored several ground up. The most I got was $1400. That was new everything.
