I had a customer bring his 2001 dodge truck in saying its running a bit rough. He complained that the last tune up was just after his last oil change, I remember doing it but its been a while. He dropped the truck off and when driving it into the shop I noticed the last jiffy lube sticker in the window was for 60,000 miles or(cant remember exact date) of 2005. Well now the truck has 115,000 miles on it, so there is 58,000 on the oil !!!!! He just came and took the truck and was going to do his own oil change, I think it may be a little to late.

Tell him to change it 5 times really fast!
A friend of mine's sister bought a car years ago and after about three years she drove it over to his place and told him it was smoking. He asked her how many miles it had on it and she said "just over 60,000". He said, "Gee that's not much, it shouldn't be smoking, how often do you change your oil", she responded "What oil?". He pulled the stick and said it was barely touching the oil and what was on the tip was "abrasive to the touch". I swear there should be a test you need to pass before you can drive that includes tire pressure, fluid levels and changing a flat.

Well, some shops may be shocked to see how old the change oil sticker on my windshield usually is... I do my own oil changes most of the time and only occasionally have a shop do it when I am pressed for time for some reason.
Possible that was the case??? I don't know of any 5.9 or 5.2 that would go that many miles without drinking every ounce of oil in it.
