What is it that is so fun about these little bikes. This one is a 1977 atc90 for now. If everything goes as planned I will locate an aftermarket frame and other goodies. So far I have a suspension front end, a big al's pull stat handle and extended hubs to go to 4x110 bolt pattern. I need to find some way to mount the front fender and the head light.

Shortline, I would be interested in a frame but I won't be able to do anything in that area till after the first of the year. I will also be looking for an oil cooler and a vented dip stick. Other things i'm going to do on this one include, 53-54 mm bore, performance cam and springs, port and polish the head, a bigger carb/ intake, and a new exhaust/ old aftermarket one.

I believe I have everything on your wish list except for the vented dipstick but by January of next year I might have a few of those as well  .

I mod the stock rocker pin plates to be able to run an oil cooler
Work pretty good too!!

Quick question. Did either the stock atc90 or atc110 rear axle ever not have a taper to it.

It just postpones things for a little while. I will be back here eventually. I have made to many friends not to come back. On a really sad note I wont be able to bring my trikes with me, I wont even be able to bring my car.

Updates to come in the next couple of weeks. Thank you again shortline10 for selling me the bandito. I also have gotten a chrome pull start cover and a Big Al's chain tensioner off ebay. It will look real nice with my bapp pull start handle and suspension front end. I will get pics up when the parts get in.

So I'm thinking about getting a pit bike engine for this project while I build my Honda motor. I have a few questions. All the motors I'm seeing don't have the engine mount on the head. Will this be a problem? What brands should I look at. I know lifan and piranha are good but what about gpx moto or?
Thank you.
Ryan.

They won't jive up without fabbing some sort of custom mount. The pit bike engines are Crf50 style cases compared to the 90 style cases. DrATV does sell a lower mount adapter for that swap

Thank you. I found the mount and it shouldn't be to hard to make something for the front.

I bought that lower mount a while back with the intention of putting a Lifan 140 into my Joker frame while I get the original 90 motor rebuilt. Still haven't gotten around to it. I'll have to watch your build to see how it works out.

10 inch rear rims and a sudco 22mm to 24mm intake on its way. :Bounce Oh yeah and a couple nos pull start gaskets.
Im looking for a smaller rear sprocket as well. I had found a 35 tooth sprocket but then got a message saying that they no longer had it available.

Uh OH! Getting a little more performance with a intake! What do you plan on running for a carb vm22? I need to find a smaller rear sprocket as well. Have a 49 tooth aluminum sprocket and just not a whole lot of top end but boy does it get there fast!

Yeah I found a brand new mikuni vm22 for 60 that I plan on buying. I will be going 3mm over on the 110 till I can find a big bore jug. Gonna have the head port matched and cleaned up. Also keaping my eye out for a stroker crank and all the sl90 goodies.

Got my intake and the nos pull start gaskets in the mail today. Also will be getting a 35 tooth rear sprocket in the next couple weeks.

Be careful when buying a VM series carb that cheap. I bought what I thought was a VM24 for mine for 65 and it ended up being a hose mount style 28mm carb. Now I've got 3 of those *facepalm*
That Sudco intake is a pretty nice piece for a pretty nice price! I'm working on cleaning the inside of mine up and getting the casting line smooth. Biggest problem with it though is that you've gotta put a stud in the pull start side of the head cause you can't fit a bolt into the hole.

Got my wheels in a little while ago and a 55 tooth rear sprocket.
I'm not sure at the moment if I will use these rims on this build or another project. Should I go with the 10's or run 8's all around. It will have an 8 inch rim up front anyways.
I say 8" all the way around! If you had a 10" front it would be a different story lol
Why did you go with a 55 tooth rear sprocket?

It was cheap as were the rims.
