just got the wheeler from a friend for free. ran great a year ago minus a lot of blue smoke, doesnt run now. yes it has compression, problem was no spark. tried 2 coils no change. tried 2 cdi boxes no change. switched out the stator or magneto whatever the correct name is. Now it has spark but its very weak. tried the other coil and cdi box and no change still weak spark. any ideas? done working on it for tonight. but was thinking that maybe the magnets on flywheel are week or slightly dirty. i didnt pay much attention to it when i switched the stator, does this sound like a probable cause?

I dont mean to sound rude but maybe you forgot or overlooked it. Did you change your spark plug with a new NGK one?

Anyone have anything for input? Random guesses?

First thing I'd do is go through all the connections -- including, and especially the grounds. Clean all with sandpaper and or wire brush, then coat with dielectric grease.

Thank you tvpierce. I've gone through wires and connections. I've checked the wires and connectors with a multi meter. Everything basically has no resistance. On another note is anybody familiar with ohm testing the stator? I tested 2 of the wires and they are in spec. 2 others test to nothing. And the other 2 are not in the manual for testing. I have 2 stators and they both test the same but one has weak spark and the other has nothing. So maybe this is still my problem?
