I have been reading a lot about old-school 200x extended swingarms and have a few questions. I know nothing about these other then they all seam to be +2 and westcoat seams to be the most popular. What would I be looking at for a mx setup? Using a extended swingarm for mx seams to be just the opposite as what they do with quads. There looks to be heavy duty and lighter weight versions, but I have no idea what I am looking at. They pop up on eBay from time to time, so maybe if someone could school me a little bit on the subject, I would be better informed on what I am looking at.
Thanks Jason

I know very little about the old swingers, but built mine to +4 for hillclimbing. Works pretty well but kiss easy wheelies goodbye unless you make gobs of power

I run a 2008 450R swinger on my 350RX; It is 3"s longer than stock. It loves hills and does not wheelie at all unless forced.
I love it, much more stable and the swinger/carrier/caliper/axle/hubs etc came with it. They were all NOS take off parts. I think I paid 120$ and shipping for all of it, the shock too but it could not be used in the X frame; So, I run a NOS 250R shock and 450R linkage. It all fits and works super but was a ton of experimental work, Gotta try or give up!!
IDK what your frame inside width is, but you can't beat NOS TRX parts available for the next 20 years if you can machine it to fit...

newskool for the oldskool.
If you call hreatv.com he can make you this same swingarm with either 450r rear brake caliper mounts or factory. He build a jig off my stock swingarm so do any plus lenghts. Mines +2 with 400ex skid plate.
I didnt want to buy somthing 30 years old and then redo it. Plus its just nicer anyway.
