Can someone PLEASE hook me up with a picture of the clutch side center case of a Yammi YT125/175? Or a picture of the mating surface of the clutch cover?? I think I'm onto something!

If you're thinking that it looks like a DT125/175 side cover pattern, you'd be correct.

Ohhh man I hope it doesn't!

I'm thinking YFS200. I've said too much now! I don't wanna spill the beans until I have all the info lol

JUST SAY THAT I WANT A PRE-TEEN Z!!!!

I'd like to NOT have to get another blaster bottom end. But if I do it's cool anyway because the blaster has a reeaaalllll nice ratio spread and they are CAKE to get bearings and clutches and stuff for

Oh, no, they're different engines. The DT125/175, early IT175, and early YZ125/175 share the same platform at the YT125/175. The Tri-Moto even has the machined boss for the kickstarter in the center case. A DT engine would be a direct bolt-in (you could probably even swap parts to use the recoil starter), but the problem you'll run into is the sprocket offset, as the YT has a longer countershaft. The Blaster engine is a different family altogether...we're talking frame mods to make it fit.

Oh bullocks.

Thank you for the info!

I'm on the hunt now for a 175 chassis then. I believe I read those are better than the 80/81 125 chassis's. The 125 I'm picking up next weekend is filthy but in excellent shape! So I don't want to screw with its chassis just yet. Unless I find cracks and have to weld on it already ya know?

I've got a blaster swingarm sitting around that needs to go on something too see,,,, so I already plan to do some chassis modding so I'll focus on centering the front wheel in the rear end and then mod the chassis around the engine attached to the swingarm ya know?

If i could ever get one of those kits cheap id snatch it right up, because that is really cool. And around me tri-motos are plentiful and cheap. I never even knew these existed.

Thank you VERY MUCH for the pics Veal!!
You may like what I'm thinking of doing.
I still need to get everything in front of me though lol

Could i be greedy and ask for a close up of the clutch side of the engine please? lol

I wonder if i could put my spare Tri-Z front end on a 125... I need to get a 175 chassis though, is what i've been told by a friend

82 and later 125 or 175 is the same chassis. Only major differences are a single fuel tank for the 125, fuel pump for the 175, and rear fenders and decals for the 175. Be very careful finding a donor engine. To fit clutch and stuff to the yt175, you have to have a 1977 or l978 it175. Look up my thread for my old yt175 and you'll get the info and lots more pics. I've had 4 Pro Tec rear suspension kits in the past. No single kit was ever complete and had to make several bits and pieces to the best of my ability and with the help of a couple friends. I'm not a very good parts fabber compared to a lot of people on here. Not a lot of travel in a pro tec rear kit, but way better than none. In a couple of old 3 wheeling magazines, the magazine put together a pro tec 175 kitted privateer racer. DG offered several hi po parts for the yt175 plus some machining services as well. The yt175 has a lot of potential, but haven't seen a Pro Tec swinger kit in years for sale. Like I said, check through my old thread and there are a lot of good pics in there.

Ok cool, cool,,,
Thank you very much!

If i dont go with my plans for the blaster motor then i know whats fixing to be even more scarce on ebay,,,, lmao
And i know those pro-tec kits are extremely expensive,, thats why i am wanting to use this complete blaster rear half i got sitting around.
I even have hydro rear brakes for that rear end!!

And the 125 I'm getting is a perfect running machine and i dont want to tear it apart just yet if my plans arent going to work ya know?

That is a wicked little trike you have there Mr. Monkey! I had the pleasure of driving both the 125 and 175 back in the day and I what I remember most is stump pulling torque and tooth loosening vibration, but not much speed. I’m guessing your ride has that shortcoming taken care of, very, very trick!

that tri moto pictured was built by the tecate kid. not a whole lot stock about that. as i remember it used either it or dt clutch parts, and it or dt cylinder and head. i remember him saying that it was a handfull to ride and his wife didnt want to ride it ( trike was built for her). tons of polished parts on there, NOS coffmans pipe, the pro tek kit, PCCC trips, yami 225 forks and front brake, aftermarket extended axle and so on and so on.. shortly after it was built it was on the table for sale. as i remember it got down around $1500 when he finally sold it. i bet he had in the 3 to 4k range into it. i actually contacted him about buying it but it had been sold by the time i gathered up the cash. beautiful trike for sure,,,, lots of parts most of us wont ever get to see,,,,, man i miss those type of build threads here......

Trizilla was right, it wasn't mine. The Tecate kid just sent me the pics to post for him in my yt thread. I just wanted to list them again for ya, since you don't seem to like to do much searching, to show you the potential of a yt. My yt was not near that fancy. I sold the kits I had to members on here, 2 of which were close friends of mine. If you really have your heart set on a blaster powered trike, why don't you find one of the frames that fit the rd350 engine, which as I remember was the basis from the blaster, or another one of those darned yamaha quads, LOL. Heck, I have one down in my garage for that matter. Why do you like to make things so hard on yourself? LOL

Hey now, I do use that search box up there a LOT lol
The main reason I want to use a blaster bottom end I because I want to use a different top end on it. I've got a couple DT175 engines around and even a DT250 but the blaster I special to me hehehehe (<- evil laugh)

But I'll probably end up building up a YT motor more than likely.

it would be cool to see you follow through with this. no one ever does much with the yamaha's. heck, maybe if you get going on this one it will inspire me to drag my tri moto project in and get started. i too have some cool idea's up my sleeve and have been collecting parts for mine for a couple yrs.

I have a future project in mind for a Blaster motor. I want to put one in a spare liquid r frame I have.I had a friends Blaster motor last year and test fit it in the frame and it fit well. Chuckie good luck on your build. When I was a kid decades ago lol I had a few Yammie enduros. One was a think It 125 also had a rt 360 and a couple 175 neat little bikes.

I guess I'll spill the beans:

I'm thinking YFS200 swingarm, YFS200 bottom end + WR/DT200 top end, YT175 front end OR Tri-Z front end, keep the 125 or 175 body, I have some dual master/quad pot hydro rear brakes for the blaster as well (my blaster has a +2 Tri-Z swingarm in it currently....) so I can make it hydraulic brakes all around even. I can throw an 81 YZ125 rad up on the forks and it should definitely be enough for the little 200.

Just got done reading Pat's Pro Tec thread,,, AWESOME READ FOR SURE!! Since my Nik framed 110 build (the Factory Stroker bike) is at a dead stop I'm gunna dive into this YT once shes home. Deffinitely gunna experiment with stuff. I will scoop some DT parts up and all so i can go to manual clutch (or maybe i'll make my DT175 auto-clutch and steal the manual clutch for my trike LOL)

Here's the goodies
http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/86220-Pro-Tec-175-Beginning/page19?highlight=Vealmonkey+yt175

I do want ti experiment with a blaster swingarm, i know its going to be extremely difficult, and i want to build this lc engine,i know this will be extremely expensive.
I want to put a tri-z front end on it, or maybe 200X, so thats another hellacious challenge.
So I will be in the market for a 175 soon-ish. Or just a rolling chassis,, so i dont tear up this 125.

Here's the 125 I'm getting this weekend. It's UGLY AS SIN

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/30/5eva2ute.jpgA

But it's the sweetest running little bike man....
It'll probably NEED a top end done, so I'll scoop an IT175 top end (kinda like I'm doing with my Tri-Z: instead of wasting money on stock, invest in a proper upgrade) and the balls are stuck in the clutch so that'll need to be freed up. But other than that the machine is pretty solid. The plastics aren't cracked anywhere, there's no tear anywhere on the seat, and I just recently gave it a good tune up and going through for a customer. He rode it twice after I got finished with it and the second time it threw him off. He said it's got too much power for him now and he doesn't want it anymore.

Oh and I replace the flywheel and stator while I had it too.

Thanks for the offer Toddy!! Could you shoot me a shot of what you had to mod engine mount wise to retro fit that 125 in there?
