Gday guys.
Heres a few photos & quick vids on my 200x hybrid. I've had so much fun on it lately and no dramas except for the radiators being a tad small which I fixed by putting the radiator up on the triples kind of like the early tecates.

Interesting. Looks like you left the rear down tubes intact. What did you graph into the front of the frame to get the motor to bolt in....a 125 frame?

Awesome trike! Was that a custom made pipe to fit the frame or did the pipe fit perfectly?

... when did cr125's have recoils????

This guy made his own engine cases before, not at all surprised to see pull start added :) probably from something similar

Looks cool, I'd love to see what it feels like!

Thanks for the comments guys.
As for the frame all I did was fabricate two new front down tubes as for the pipe to clear as the stock 200x as you know has the single downtube.i bent up some tubing tacked them in place wwhilst keeping the down dube in to keep it all straight once they were welded in I chopped out the downtube than made my own mounts for the engine.

Now for the pipe it was surprisingly close all I had to do was cut and twist and re-weld whilst taking care not to lose any length diameter of pipe it stayed the same just twisted around on some cuts.I could of ran it with the standard shape ill post a photo of the standard shape and the one I did it just kinda didn't sit right bit to far forward and needed to change direction of the stinger around the frame
This phot is of standard shape although if you were to stand side on it stretches far forward photo is kinda deceiving lol
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk255/mart300r/IMG_1664_zpsa745ca31.jpg (http://s282.photobucket.com/user/mart300r/media/IMG_1664_zpsa745ca31.jpg.html)
and this is the pipe on it and modified to fit if you look at the header you can kinda see it sits much closer to the frame
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk255/mart300r/IMG_1665_zpsa95617dd.jpg (http://s282.photobucket.com/user/mart300r/media/IMG_1665_zpsa95617dd.jpg.html)
LOL the photo makes the first pipe look better lol also you might notice the photos the engine is tilted forward a lot now ive changed all the mounts and moved it right back (This is where it got complicated)Because the cr's have the through swingarm mounts and the 200x has a sliding swingarm for chain adjustment(which I hate with a passion)so I decide it was either going to be build a swingarm to incorporate the eccentric style adjustment like later model Hondas or cut the back cr mount of and weld new mounts on.Because id already nearly finished my alloy custom swingarm for it I decided on the later option weld new mounts on the cases they turned out really good whick I picked up the standard 200x bottom mount and could now adjust the chain just like standard happy days.

As for the pull start that was surprisingly pretty easy just added a 110 cage to the flywheel machined a spacer to fit the cases and the other side drilled and tapped for it to bolt on lots of measuring etc but was quite easy to do starts so easily and works really well.

Cheers mate.I really enjoy doing custom things and thinking outta the box this trike has been on my "TO DO LIST" for my entire life my uncle built two back in the 80's one for him and one for my ol boy and they allways talk about how good they were so off to the drawing board I went.
It goes so well great power, stops extremely well due to a yfz 450 caliper fitted to the rear,Its very light,They are a really pipey engine if you don't keep it on the pipe its back two gears again lol but that's the fun part I guess.Probably my favourite trike ive built.

Very nice indeed!

Looks like one of the later CR125 engines. And I'll wager that trike gives most stock-ish 250r's fits! :beer

Mart that thing is SICK! I wanted to build one of these for a long time as well. Curt and I also looked at trying to put a KDX200 motor in a 1st gen 200x earlier this year and it ended up looking like it was going to be too much work because of the frame width compared to the kdx engine, but man, this turned out nice. I'm totally digging that pull start setup as well.

Yeh the vid of it a tammworth that was so much fun it's really more at home on the dirt than the dunes but flat track is defgi
nately where it's at. It's an 04 model engine with the electronic power valve claims to have around 34ish horsepower

Awesome trike and good job on starting your little girl out at a young age. I've got a 2 year old daughter and she loves to be outside with her "daddy" putting around on my 70's or my golf cart.

P.S. that trike looks very dangerous, you can send it to me and I will make sure that it is never ridden again. Lol.

NO, you are both talented and enthusiastic to think "outside the box". None of your work is easy but you do it so well!!!!

Is that aluminum TIG welded or a MIG with a spool gun and different gas, besides Argon?? or yes, that gas.

I love all your creations. I am a big fan of you my friend; Crap, I'd be your slave just to learn!!

EDIT - no, you are super talented and far too humble, :D

Stay in touch with our messed up Americans :beer We'll find you a slave :D

Sorry briano trikes staying put its way to much fun lol glad to here you are enjoying your little one as much as me she amazes me everyday.
Dirt crasher the lathe I'll get the specs on for you next time I'm put in the shed it's an old hercus which I believe was of Australian design I have heaps of tooling etc that came with it and buckets of high speed steel to make cutters etc. as for a mill I only have a small mill/drill which does a good job for cases etc.
Here's a few shots of the swinger it is ssssssssoooooo much lighter than the stock one best part is I have a jig to make more

Thanks guys
Yamada the air box is made from 1mm 316 stainless steel it's all I had in plate I should've made it out of alloy or better yet plastic vaccum form one as it's very heavy lol.
Atc300r yeh I'm still building that engine it's just not priority as I'm deciding out of 3 engines for my trx 250r #1 keep the counter balanced cr 500 in it which unfortunately smashed itself apart a couple weeks ago. It's the most likely because it was running so well not vibrating at all and goin very hard than the clutch cover along with balancer smashed its way through lol.#2 engine is a 04 model cr250 and then #3 is my custom cr480 topped lc250r bottom end which I honestly think would be a bull of an engine just right amount of power counterbalanced forward kick 6 speed only thing slowing me up on that one is the price of the crank I would need +4mm stroker with cr500 rod = about $800 dollars lol
Atc Tim and sling blade cheers for the comments if you ever venture down under it'll be there waitin for yas to pilot
Keith that's the reason I built this one my dad and uncle had em in the racing days aswell and never stop talkin bout em how good they went for 125's what were the details of the one you rode mate??

But, Mart is no lazy man and uses what he has, can you guys imaging boring out that hunk of round alloy for a set of carrier bearings??

It just screams "well, this is all I have so.....". Just so much talent and I bet he is a super fun mate to hang out with!! :D

Lol,was a good cd that one.I also love my country music ( which most of my mates get into me about lol) only American country though I hate Aussie country they try and make em selves sound American and I reckon it just screams try hard lol, you can't go wrong sittin back havin a few beers listening to abit of Alan Jackson thinking about the next creation lol.
Yeh crasher that took so long on my little lathe ( which by the way is a hercus presician model A 9") with the thread cutting gearbox etc.It was a solid chunk of alloy an I sat there cut by cut lol, then to do the bearings turning it round and dialing it back true to match the other side stuff like that takes ages as you probably know yourself.oh and than building a jig took time aswell.
