Does anyone know where to get the bearings and seals for the top linkage piece to the 1st gen tecates rear suspension? Also inside that piece there is a permanent shoulder that the bearings press up against correct? That shoulder is not a separate sleeve correct? Let me know. Thanks.

this has been discussed so a search might work, if not shoot tecatedan a pm. It's an odd bearing and only made by one mfg.

when I needed some I called my bearing supplier with the number from the bearing and the dimensions. Normally It's a quick phone call, while they look it up in the computer and tell me if they have it or when they can get it. Not this time, they called me back a couple hrs. later to inform me that they are only made by one mfg. (IKO I think) and they had to be ordered direct and would take a few weeks to get. I didn't have a few weeks so I just made Delrin bushings and eliminated the bearings and seals. That was just before TF 12 and they are still being used without any issues.

hmmm, now i like that idea a lot. u should make more and sell them, lolIhave no issue making them beside lack of time and people being just plain cheap. If I sold them for 40.00 shipped it would be cheaper than buying the bearings at 20.00 each plus the seals at 12.00 each. However I have found That people would rather spend as little as possible(can't blame them) and would rather spend 20 bucks on a bearing and use the worn out seals and 1 used half shot bearing.I offered brand new shifters for 75.00 shipped with choice of color for the toe rubber. I sold 3, 2 of which to the same person. people would rather spend 60.00 plus shipping for a used one. I guess I'm just saying that it's not worth my time. That being said, your in luck. I happen to need some again and will make another set while I have my lathe set up for them if you want to give them a try.
Just Ben I would like a set also if that's possible

Bushings will work in place of needle bearings in this app however the needle bearings will allow the arm to move more freely especially under the severe loads the arm is subjected to.
The bearings i listed are original Japanese made IKO bearings. they are also made by ntn which is japanese.
The cost is $12.27 each plus $11.44 shipping to California or $11.2 each plus $31.04 shipping if one buys 10 at a time. They are not $20.00 each however the shipping cos can be high depending on where you buy them and where you live..

If you have the time to make these I will send you the dimensions. I'm sure you would be a lot more efficient making them. My lathe is only 6"x19" and I'm not sure how accurate the measurement scales are,so it takes me a while to make several small cuts and take measurements in between. I'm not very patient either so a few pieces went in the trash after taking one too many cuts.

Great info in this thread, just wanted to say thanks.
I just took the bolt out of my linkage and rust colored powder and small bearing pieces poured out. I check the Kawasaki parts page and panic set it... now there is hope.
This is why I love this site!
looks like I'll be placing an order in the next few days.
