ytm 225 DX ATC ?

I have a 1984 ytm 225 DX ATC ( black) and a 1984 225 DX (blue) that someone switched the plastics around on is there any difference in the two besides the plastics and rim colors?

welcome aboard. did you check your vin's? there is a vin decoder link on the site. type em in and you can figure which is which.

I had a black one once, I was told it was a 'special edition'..

For what I don't know, and no there wasn't any mechanical difference except that it was a 225DR(reverse equipped).

I've had many 225 DX/DR in several colours..I don't think Yamaha changed a thing between them, except the reverse of course!

Turn the steering to the left, then look at the right side of the steering neck..

Welcome aboard nhwheeler! This is a great community to meet new 3 wheeler enthusiasts, and to share and learn from one another.

To my knowledge, the only difference between the DX/DR is that the DR has reverse. I owned a 1986 225DRS which was all black with gold wheels and red seat.

Post some pictures of your machines when you can.

the black 84 should be a dxl not dx in 84 and far as I know cosmetically the only difference besides fender color is the dxl and dr's in 85 had the lower front shocks painted black (86's had those painted gold.). the 85 and 86 black bikes were reverse but the 84's were not.
