Was given a 85 200x last month. My first real racer trike with a clutch. Motor was stuck. blah blah, its a pretty straight trike other than the motor. So i pulled it down, looking to gain some more ponies along with a rebuild. So I order a
10.25:1 66mm piston
engine gasket kit
26mm carb
40b cam from webcams
New valves
already have a supertrapp exhaust that came with the bike
and I ported and semi polished the head myself in the meantime (nothing more than cleaning up cast imperfections). I also removed a little weight from the flywheel. Now ive got the bottom end back together after checking all bearings and such the cylinders off to be bored. Now i cant find any information on what intake manifold to use with my 26mm keihin carb. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Will,
The setup below will work. You will need to go to bike bandit to get these parts.
What you need is an 1987 XR200R intake manifold. These are still readily available. If you go out to bike bandit and order the part numbers below, you will be set.

Bike Bandit Website: http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmot...3038#sch656987

Intake Manifold, Part Number: 589960, Qty: 1, Price: 34.42
Intake Studs, Part Number: 732322, Qty: 2, Price: .90
Intake O-ring, Part Number: 730726, Qty: 1, Price: 5.73

That should be everything you need to make the monster fire.

Okay, got it ordered! Thanks man, youve been a HUGE help! Any other suggestions while the motor is out?

Upgrade the kicker gears if you can find the parts. Some members on here might have some that they would sell.

What all does this include? I noticed the kick starter would miss every once in a while and youd get a free spin of the kicker. I was guessing a spring was going to be weak but i found nothing wrong when i took it apart. I already have the cases bolted together, I was planning on leaving it like it is, as it worked perfectly on the bench when i tested it after cleaning it well. I assume the gears that need changed are the ones inside the case? Or the ones that are inside the clutch cover?

Did these bikes come stock with dual valve springs on each valve? Or does mine have aftermarket springs?
Thanks
Will

The 2 ratchet gears need to be replaced and a new upgraded heavy duty ratchet spring is the fix for a slipping kicker . If you upgraded to a high compression piston then you defiantly need to fix your kicker .
I sell the kit for the kicker if your interested .
The duel valve springs are a stock feature .

Okay, got the motor back in, got everything bolted up as I thought it was suppose to be. Gave it a good couple kicks and it fired to life, the throttle cable and clutch cable are both seized/broke so I was only able to idle it for a bit. It sounded MEAN! Im really surprised. However its leaking oil pretty badly between the cylinder and the head on the right side of the motor. Is there suppose to be o rings where the oil passage runs up the size of the cylinder/head? I used no orings, just a base gasket, head gasket, and gasket maker on the valve cover.
Thanks
Will

Yep, an o-ring goes on the right hand side between the head and jug. I forget if its the front or rear dowel...check the manual and you will see it.

also, in the gasket set there was a small brownish gasket with 4 holes, two are larger and the other two are a little smaller in it around a circle, that i did not use. What is this for?

And there is a red and a green o ring, where do these go?

What color is the o ring that seals between the cylinder and head?

From what I can tell there is suppose to be a little rubber seal that goes between head and valve cover? I am missing this part. Is this the piece i need?

Okay. Just posting some pictures incase anyone wants to see how she is coming along. Obviously the motor is back in the frame, running, and im working on jetting. In the meantime, I got myself a little Christmas present. I added tusk extended hubs bringing the rear end to 49 inches with my current set up, which makes this little trike look SICK imo!!! Put new wheel bearings in front and axle bearings in rear. Later on will have new seat, foam, and plastic.
She was pretty much bone stock when I got her, except for a supertrapp full exhaust. I added the handlebars and the rear wheels right after I got it as I couldn't stand the stock balloon tires and bent up stock steel handlebars hahaha.

Love how wide the axle looks, thinking about doing that to my 85
