Hi, this my first post and have a question. I'm rebuilding my 1985 Tri-Moto 125, I got a NOS cylinder off ebay and all the gaskets, just need a piston and rings. I've noticed that the DT125 enduro engine is almost the same and was looking at pistons for the '78-'81 air cooled DT and they're alot cheaper then the YT piston. I was curious if anybody knows if it will work or has used a DT125 piston in a YT125? The bore and stroke are the same between the two but I noticed the part numbers for piston and rings are different even though the the crankshaft, con rod, piston pin, and all the bearings are the same part number. So will a DT125 piston fit? Thanks

You should be good to go with the DT piston. The difference in part numbers you're seeing are the first three or last two correct? The first one dictates the year and the last two dictate the revision. Should of told you to pick up a DT/MX175 jug for it.

the rings are the same , i know a 78 dt 125 has a different piston , compression height is different and intake skirt is different .
