I don't think I'm going anywhere today. Even the Deer thinks this sucks. I have about an inch of solid ice on some things.

My truck is encased in about 3/4 inch of ice. No way to even get the door open to start it.

Wow that looks cold. Be carefull out there walking around. I blew my knee out a few years ago on some invisable ice and it hurt to bite the dust, lol. Merry Christmas!!

NW had freezing ice rain at a steady 40 degree F ambient air temp.
Dad said the same thing about Virginia.
I understand hail and stuff can come from colder up higher but wondering why it freezes and STAYS frozen when what it lands on is 40 degrees, had been for hours and remained at 40 for a few hours afterwards.
Was it really cccccold there?
Glad you got to stay home.
Any power out?

Oh ya, we have been encased in ice for days and colder than a well diggers ass. Yesterday we finally got up to 40 so allot of the ice has now melted. Enjoy the ice. Its my gift to you.

We've been hovering for a week now after a cccold plunge below zero F.
28-29 at night and 35-40 in the days.
Still have a 3" thick chunk of ice, 2 ft diameter on my front porch that won't melt.
But seriously, I used to make snow at ski areas and thought I was pretty aware of the physics. Ice at 40 degree F ambient air temp. I mean hard ice that stays frozen at 40*.
Wonder what they're spraying. Something is definitely different upstairs.
Sure is fun doing trike donuts and crop circles except for the frozen gopher dirt piles hidden under a couple inches of snow.
Thanks god trikes are tripods...easy to crawl out from underneath.
