i have a ported piped and bigger carb on this thing and I cant stop with out stalling out since the stock engagement is about 2200 rpms i would like to get this up to 3000 - 3500 rpms . i know people have done this to the 175s so some one should know what im talking about.

What year is your motor? I would start by adjusting the clutch mechanism. Remove the inspection cover and the jam nut on the engagement plate. Grab the stud and see if there is any in or out play. If there is, tighten the adjusting nut till there is barely none. Then replace lock nut. If that doesn't help and you're after more of a "stall" to work better with the motor's working RPM, you can remove balls from the clutch basket. Its been awhile since Ive been in the bottom of a 125 but depending on the year, you either have 8 balls or 10. If you have a later model with 10 balls, remove 4 keeping an even spacing in the bottom of the clutch basket. If you have an earlier model with 8 balls, only remove 2. You should be able to do all of this without removing the motor, but it will be easier if you do. You can remove plastics and tip the machine on its side, remove clutch case and be able to access the clutch basket.
