my high beam stopped working the other night so i checked the bulb, cleaned the contacts, and checked the fuse. all were fine

after i put it back together i noticed the neutral light didnt come on when i turned the key, the light also wont come on and the e start did nothing

i kicked it and it fires right up and the low beam works but seems to flicker

the key works and the battery is at 13.2v while running

the only thing i think i overlooked was the main fuse but im not sure where it is?? is it in the big connector looking thing in the pic?

I'm working on one right now for the kid with the neutrallight issue.
It looks like a stamped piece of tinfoil held in with 2 tiny phillips screws inside a plastic box inside a rubber boot.
One mine? THE only place that held water.
Let me go look, it's buried behind the frame right there somewhere behind the cdi black box.

be right back.

Mine/s hanging down by the swingarm, fat red wire out of both ends.
Rubber boot covering black plastic box.
There might be a spare in there but FUNky fer sure.

I honestly forget what doesn't work when those blow.
MIGHT kickstart without it?

I got a waterproof automotive spade fuse to replace it that can be bought at any 7-11.

Random hackjob pix to help you find the silly thing.

thanks i found it and sure enough its blown

i think its because i was sticking the tester into the 12v outlet and touched positive and negative at the same time.

thats a good idea putting the common automotive fuse in but i think i will order them from honda and get a few extras

Glad you found it.
Was it full of water?
corroded?
Was there an extra fuse lying inside the black box covered in dirt?

I just read that the 12v outlet ihas a separate 'real' glass fuse by the headlight.
True or not, idk
Nothng to do with this 'main' fuse you just found.
there might also be a spare fuse in the black box you just found hidden by dust/dirt.

bought 2 30 amp (all they had) from local honda dealer, no spare in the black box. it was actually pretty clean the last owner put electircal tape around the top rubber piece to keep it sealed
