I bought a 1985 Honda ATC 70 to completely go over every nut and bolt. I decided to go with a blue frame and fork and everything else will have gold silver and black accents. Ill be posting pictures when I have a minute to hop on my computer. I will be doing hydro graphics on the tank in white skulls. Plastics wil more then likely be carbon fiber unless I vinyl wrap them. I will have a lot of stock good parts for sale when im done also if anyone is interested in anything.

Good luck with the 70. I have had a ton of fun building them ( on #5) and more fun riding with the atc70 crew.

Keeping the motor stock?

Um id like to upgrade motor but ive already got about $800 invested im replacing every nut and bolt and powder coating everything I can. I was considering a big bore 88cc kit but not quite sure yet ill worry about motor last after I completely restore the bike. This will be my 9th bike im doing most of them for customers. Ill be taking tons of pictures. For now will be keeping it mostly stock (sprocket size, tank etc). I may also do pit bike bars but once again im indecisive about my personal projects and have to make up my mind lol

I've got a 125 Chinese pit bike motor I got from another member on here. It needs a left crank case half. Threw the chain and busted it. I'd let go of it cheap if you are interested. I traded some things for it, but never used it in mine.

yes with that tecate I bought it completely torn down if you recall when I ended up getting the 250 c_c motor together the case and it up being cracked under the flywheel. so I picked up a KX 500 engine from Craigslist and throwing that on then I traded that one for a couple other bikes and that's kind of how it all started I've always had a thing for the small 70s I recently had one with 125cc motor is it was awesome it was so fast.

I own a custom coating company so I usually do these little 70's once in a blue moon and sell them at car shows. is the case cracked or is just a piece of the case broke off

Did you modify the frame for the 500 motor or have someone else do it? Thats awesome though, always wanted a kx500 Tecate!

I believe it is busted. I have never removed the entire motor from the box. When it was sent to me it was disassembled. I never took the motor out of the box. I just carried it over to the garage and set it on the shelf. Pretty sure the carb is missing. That shouldn't be much on eBay.

after seeing another thread about flat track racer I think that's what I may make this into

Do you know who makes the chineese motor. I have a couple laying around with other problems. The flywheel side may be good on one of them. But if you are doing the work the 140 is a better motor.

The cover says monster joe on it. I have the Lifan 140 in mine. Had to stretch the frame for it. 125 should fit in stock frame.

A lifan 125 fits fine. I'm putting one in a 70. Also have a 70 with a Honda 110 in it. Love the hi/low gear selection.

The only reason I'm not using it is I am building a stroked, big bore 90 engine.

Id like to just build a stroked 70 stock motor. Like 108cc maybe? Old time youll have to stop down and the shop sometime. Im undecided about a lifan or just stroking a big bore 88cc

I reworked some G-Force rear hubs for a TRX 450, They widen the rear end 2 1/2" on each side. 185291185292

Yes I saw those! Id like to get some but then I would also need 4 bolt wheels amd tires to go along. Unless I can find wheels that fit stock tire size... maybe spanglers

I buy my Aluminum wheels from Sterdy Products. They are the only aluminum 7" rim I have found that will let a 4 bolt hub fit in the bell of the wheel. The G-Force hub just barely fits. These rims come in the 3 bolt pattern, I drill the 4 bolt pattern into them. I like running the stock type tire's on the 7" wheel so I get great floatation in the sand.

Access to a lathe or a machine shop and you can have your stock 70 hubs turned down to fit cart tires. Holes have to be redrilled and tapped for the cart pattern obviously. Or you can cheap out like my buddy....lol.....it worked pretty slick though. I make my own plastic spacers as well with the hole saw.... http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/154829-Do-it-yourself-atc-70-go-cart-hubs?highlight=70+hubs
By the way you will love that piranha 140. Great motor for a great price. Did you get it at wholesalecycle in Ohio??? www.wholesale-cycle.com Hard to beat...dozens from this site have used those motors....

I run 8" rims with knock off razor tires that are same as stock tires od. Plus the hubs give me more width in the rear.

Ok so I picked up gpx 125 with cam and port and polished with klx110 carb. Ordered bars, cables and grips. And levers of course. Converting to twist throttle. A 1/4 turn billet.

Motor is in. Coil is now a 12 volt coil but still no spark. Gotta grab the old volt meter and see whats up. Maybe the stator is no go

Check your spark plug cap, End of coil wire might not be in right. 1 of the last 3 new coils I bought had this problem.
