just picked up a BR 250 last night. some kid didnt take care of it well and MacGyver-ing most of it. i have good compression and spark and it wanted to fire but since the one-way bearing on the clutch is bad the kick started didnt work, once or twice it hit enough to hear it start. when i came back from dinner i was looking at the BR head on and noticed it was tipped to the right (sitting on it - tipped to the left). the tires were inflated properly. i then put my weight on the front end and i didnt notice the shocks compressing. two things popped into my head. one, the shocks had bent when this kid crashed it, but not the tree or gooseneck. OR the left or both shocks are stuck.

question is how do i break free the left shock or shocks? or if they are bent, is it easier to buy a new set? are the BR 250 front shocks the same as the SX, i know the trees are different but the shocks look similar. thanks guys.

well the shocks are bent for sure. each shock are fully extended and measure the same length. going to have to get a new fork assembly or new shocks. also 250sx forks are completely different from big red 250 forks. SX is triple tree and BR is a solid tree at the top much like the big red 200e.

is it easy to bend the bent shocks back to form or just junk them and score a new set?
