All I can say is get down with your bad self! That is pretty sweet, did you fab that swinger by yourself?

The front half of the swinger is factory but I built the rest. A big thanks to my neighbour who has a lathe and milling machine in his garage. I still need to build a bolt on rear fender mount but it has turned out pretty good so far. I'm getting excited about getting it completed. Does anyone have any suggestions for an exhaust gasket?

One of the best big wheel builds I've seen! Keep posting.

What is the back tire that trailprotrailpro running?

I wish someone else would come out with a kit like this for sale... these are awesome. So what's the difference in riding a big wheel like this and a regular dirt bike... besides the obvious big wheel stuff like mud and snow riding? Does it handle better or worse or the same on trail riding?

The back tire is a Carlisle Black Rock 25-10 12 I don't know what it will handle like yet but I'm hoping it will be good. Got the exhaust and some other small jobs done today and ordered a custom rear brake line.

Got the brakes finished up. I used a cr250 brake caliper and a Suzuki dr125 disc on the rear.
Fabbed up a rear fender mounting bracket and a support to make everything solid ( all bolt on - no frame mods) bring for powder coating tomorrow.
Changed fork oil and trans oil.
Filled rads ( very happy there were no leaks as this bike was built from parts )
Installed jack shaft and fabbed chain guard.

Here are some pictures

What did you do for a jack shaft? Are those sprockets welded to the bolt? Any bearings used?

Very nice project, looks like a blast to ride.

Could be carb problems, maybe the float's not properly adjusted and it's starved for gas? Need more details, start your own thread and I'm sure people will help you out.

Greasable bushings, if the bushings don't hold up I'll bore each end of the hub out to except a bearing but the bushings are cheap and easy to change and did not require any machining to the sprocket hub. All parts for the jack shaft assembly are readily available and easy to make. The jack shaft chain is non adjustable but I did use a very high strength 520 chain and will likely have to change the whole section of chain when it needs adjusting.
I machined a .75" bolt down to .625" and left only an inch of thread to the outside of the swing arm where a .75" nut was inset. I have attached a photo 185881

Thats a cool build! I love seeing the stuff guys create on this board!

As the current owner of the 2cate that justben built I can tell you some of my personal feelings. Ive made opinions after putting quite a few miles on the 2cate.
When ben finished the 2cate the trikes rake was way to steep to handle as a bigwheel, he added a steering stabilizer 1st then added rake by piecutting the frame. That fixed its ride!
You will not like the rear tire, it is way to agressive.
When you start riding it forget everything else you have ridden, they are their own beast.
the best way to describe the feel is a topheavy MX bike w flat tires.
I find I dont lean hard into turns, I lean the bike but try to keep my body upright, let them big tires find where they want to be.. lol

good luck w the rest of the build!

Thanks, I like it. I may have to make some changes to the front end as well, depending on how it rides. May try mounting the forks backwards first if needed before cutting the frame. I'll have to do some reading in regards to setting up the rake and trail if I need to cut as I only want to do that once.
Thanks for the info!!

Thanks, I'll post some more pictures this week end as it will be complete pending any start up issues and issues discovered after testing it.

So after a note from MIK6 I thought I would measure to see how much trail the Dual z has and I got approximately 2" and according to what I've been able to find out that is the minimal trail a bike should have with the optimal being 4" for best overall handling. I originally thought that if I had to I could flip the forks backwards and improve this but after looking into this a little further that would make it worse and could leave me with a negative trail. As for now I will certainly have to try it as it is and if that isn't sufficient I will look into raking the frame.

I'm afraid trike feast is too far away for me but it would have been good.
I mounted the rear fender today and put gas in but the gas shut off valve is leaking, so a job for next week.

I love how its coming out!!

I got to tell ya ... im not a huge fan of the name daul-Z... for a 2 wheeled tri-Z im kind of digging bi-Z!! Lmao!

Thanks, I'm not really liking the Bi-z (not that there anything wrong with that - lol)
Now just got to work out any bugs.

Lmao! Its your build to name! Just do me a favor and if I slip and call it a bi-Z dont take offence.. I can assure you I dont mean anything by it.. lol

I think its cool as hell to make something outside the box!

At TF ive been known to bring bigbore 2nd gen T3s w me and spend the week on scattracks and mancos! For me its not about the normal trikes..

I think the daul-Z is looking awesome!

No problem, have you heard of anybody placing a 700 rapter engine in a Tri z frame? I've been thinking about that for a little while now and may have to do it but won't be this year as I've got a house build planned. I too like to build things outside the box. Just because!!
If anybody has any info regarding the Rapter engine in a Tri z please pass it along.

Well I got the Dual Z running today the fuel leak was just a broken fuel line. Never even had to adjust the carb. not bad for a bunch of parts that came in totes and from all over the place. Took it for a short drive down the street and back and so far it seems good except the rear shock is too soft. Did't go too far as it minus 20 here today. Very happy with it right now:p

Both sprockets on the jack shaft are the same therefore not changing the ratio at all but should wear less than a smaller sprocket. Power didn't appear to be any issue when I took it for a quick test drive but it was a quick one with it being minus 20 and icy ( would be fun with the tires studded up) the shock needs to be firmer so I am going to check with some rebuild shops about making something custom for me. I currently have a Warrior shock. Overall I am very pleased with how it turned out.

The front sprocket is a 12 tooth, the jack shaft sprockets are 24 tooth and the rear sprocket is a 44 tooth. In this case as long as the jack shaft has the same number of teeth on each sprocket there is no change in ratio so it does not matter what the tooth count is on the jack shaft. The way it is geared is slightly lower than factory but the rear tire is slightly larger so it should be approximately the same as a Tri Z with the 6 speed transmission. It sounds a little confusing. I hope I was able to explain well enough.;)
