So I got the necessary gaskets/parts for my 110.
During reassembly of this, I dropped the connecting rod circlip in the cam chain. i know...I had the one hole plugged up, but not the cam chain hole.
I can't see it.
So, I think I need to removed the left cover. how do I get the screws out? I tried my little hand impact and some of them came loose, but some won't.
What should I do?

Get yourself a quality mini magnet, and fish around in there. If you come up empty, Carefully lay the bike on the side to get it shook down to where the magnet can get it. If you need to remove screws, yes, a good quality impact driver, and if that fails. Carefully put a slot in the screws if they're butchered up. The heat and vibration will help loosen it up. And 99% of the time, they'll come right out.

can it go anywhere but that cam chain area?

It can go anywhere in the entire crank case through the cam chain hole.

Cant you just tip the motor upside down and jiggle it around until it comes out?

the problem is, it can go into the gearing section if your not careful. they make a flexible long magnet that you can snake in there and get it. they run about $4.99 at the auto store. get one and it will help you out a ton. it has saved me more than once on them small motors.

had this happen on my first rebuild on my 200x. telescoping magnet did the trick. good luck!

Been dicking around with a mini magnet for a while. No dice. I drained the oil and will try to remove motor and shake it. Hopefully I can get it by just removing that case.

I am going to stop at harbor freight for a flexible magnet...I just got a telescoping one, as that is all my auto parts store had.

keep us posted.
if that does not work, you will have to take the side cover off, the flywheel and stator, then the cover to the lower timing chain to get at it. big pain in the (_)_)
I do that all the time on my son's racing bikes so I can do it in less than 30 min flat and have it back together, but not everyone has all the specialty tools or shortcuts. ;)

I am going to try a couple things before I tear it apart. I hope it stayed within that area.
Do I have to remove the sub transmission?
I have to get a better hand impact, have a couple stuck screws...
I can't say I was surprised when this happened...my son was helping me (he is 4)...enough said?
I had to step away, didn't want to get the BFH out...
On the positive note, I scored the airbox lid I have been looking for the trike :)
I did go over the floor with my big magnet pan just to be sure...

I had one on my YTM 200 that I swore shot down and got past the rag I had over the opening... I messed with it for hours before I gave up. Then the next day I found it on the floor like 9 feet away, those things tend to shoot pretty far, look around the floor some more before you drive yourself nuts.

I just rebuilt a 200s motor yesterday and did the same thing I didnt drop it in the timing chain hole tho I dropped it in where the piston is and luckily was able to get it back out with a flexible magnet
