86 Honda Trx200sx HELP!!!

I know this is not a trike but please help. I bought this thang from my cuisine and he was having trouble with it. It starts right up and runs just perfect and it mite just run all day long with no problem but some times you will be riding alone and it will just die. The coil, CID and the plug wire is all new. All the wiring has been checked and looks good. I have herd that the regulator has something to do with the fire. Do I need to replace it?:wondering

Still need help with this thing. I replaced the regulator then the stator and I am still having the same problem.

does it still have spark after it stops running? if so it may be a fuel problem. check the lines for rust and other stuff. i had a atc110 that ran for the longest time then started acting funny. Checked the fuel lines and they were full of rust. also check the float in the carb as it could be sticking.
