I'm having a little bit of trouble trying to track down a complete engine rebuild kit. I've seen a few top end kits on eBay but that's it. my engine is currently running and ride able but the lower end is pretty loud(bearings I'm guessing). I've been piecing this bike together for a couple years now and want to get the engine done right. So does anybody know where I can find a complete engine rebuild kit? or what if any options I have on rebuilding it? Please have some good news for me, I've thrown a lot of cash at this old turd and want to keep it going strong.

don't know of anyone who makes a whole kit. more than likely need to go to each vendor individually. wiseco makes nice pistons and hot rods makes good crank/rod kits. bearings can be gotten on line or most NAPA or auto parts stores. the old bearings have numbers stamped on them, most places can cross reference.

what exactly do you mean by "kit"?
what exactly do you need, ie rod bearing, crank bearings and seals, clutch plates?
once you get it apart you might find you need some new gears because the others might be worn after 27 years or so.

well I guess I'm not really sure what all I'll need or mean by "kit", I'm assuming I'll need bearings, seals, gaskets, O-rings, piston, rings, wrist pin, cir-clips? I just cant really find anything that comes together minus the few top end kits on eBay. I'm really just needing sources I guess, since it sounds like I'm going to have to piece together all the parts I'm going to need like trike savior said. I know somebody on here has rebuilt 1 or 2 of these engines lol, just didn't know if there was a website or somebody I could call and get most of what I need for an overhaul all in one spot. thanks

How loud is your bottom end? The old foolers are known to be a little noisey. I'm not saying it's not a good idea to go threw it but you might end up with it being just as loud.

Ya I hear what your saying, it's just when I bought this bike it was pretty much just frame, forks and engine. No carb or intake or exhaust. So the inside of the engine was open to the elements for only god knows how long. Much to my surprise I through a carb, intake and exhaust on it and kicked it a couple times and she started pinging away. But this is my first 2stroke and I could just be paranoid but I still wanna open it up and go through it.
