It's mentioned in the service manual but what exactly does it do or what is it for? It's the little 1 inch black box with 2 wires by the headlight

It's to let you know the oil tank is getting low.

I hope he knows he needs to put 2 stroke oil in the bottle..if not he's boned!!

Yeah, I know a lot of people just pre-mix and disconnect the pump, but I chose to use the combination of the pump and a leaky right side crank seal just to be safe lol.

Never knew the YTMs were oil injected. Pretty cool.
so why were the bigger 250 2-strokes never oil injected? Performance reasons?

I know what the oil light is for and that it's oil injected. What I'm asking about is in the wiring harness up front by the headlight, it's a black square with 2 wires coming out of it and in the diagram it's labeled as "Oil Light Checker" but it doesn't say what it's for. I'm just curious if anybody know
