Well everyone knows how hard it is to find a second gen shroud for your machine. Everytime one pops up on egay it just goes through the roof of what I am willing to spend on a machine my son is gonna ride....well I found one from a fellow member (thanks Larry) but it was rough. But, more importantly it wasnt cracked....

Well, when I did the fender and headlight shroud on my 350x I started with 220 grit and worked my way up to 1000 grit sand paper....once it was all sanded I used an electric polisher with 3M brand rubbing compound, then Finesse and Hand glaze last....it is the same stuff they use in body shops for automotive paint.....I am sure there are different brands....It is very time consuming and all sanding was done with water with a little dish soap in it...there are a couple thread on here that document the process with pics if you search....Good Luck.....

Great job on that bezel! . I also have had some experience polishing fenders and you know as well as I ,it's a lot of work but well worth it if done correctly. If you need any more tips DickyDanger just search my threads where I have done some work and Mr.clean's. You also should start with the finest grit of wet sandpaper possible depending on how deep your scratches are. The last step in sanding your fenders should be with 2000 grit wet sanding then buff buff buff buff and polish.

Nice work . Just want to say that I save pieces of old fenders , and cut them into a scraper . I use them first on the deep scratches to knock down the edge because its softer than the surface itself . Since like surface / composition wont scratch , it wont add any new damage , but gives a head start on the rough stuff .
