my son wanted his Honda 185 to look more like a racer so I did some parts swapping. Rear wheels/tires and handle bars from a 1987 200x and removed all mud flaps, I think it turned out looking good and he loved it :Bounce.188189188190188191

I think they look so much better without the mud flaps. Nice!

Thanks. I've got a nice set of factory aluminum wheels for the rear still to put on yet. Is there anything out there for the front to clean it up a little...or maybe a front end swap that will work on the 185's? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

You could probably do the 1st gen 200X swap, that would look very slick.
I love those meats you have on the rear, who akes 'em?

Thanks gazoo, they are 20x10x9 kenda vipers, don't know much about them, they were on a 87 200x that I bought for a parts bike. A little dry rotted but they hold air and have good tread still that's all I'm worried about lol. I thought about the 1st gen 200x setup but my concern there is that it might set the front end up to high. Guess I could always lower the triple trees down on the forks a couple inches. Do you or anyone else know if it will swap or what might be involved in doing so?

IIRC to do the 200X swap on a 185S/200S, you need to cut off the neck and reweld it. Others who know more will probably chime in eventually.

That's all I could find doing a quick search

R.J.M., you need to measure the necks and find one that will work. Since the 185s has no rear shock I would leave well enough alone and be glad the kid is happy. He will be riding that 200X before to long anyway.

Scooter thanks for the link...sounds like more work than I want to do lol.
Outlaw you have a very good point, if he wants it more race like I'll just take his motor and build him and auto X.
Thank You Both For Your Input.

I love my 200S, but there is only so much you can do to them. It will always be a hard tail. ;)
