I have a friend that picked up a complete running 1986 350X and a complete but disassembled 1985 350X. The 86 is a little rough but does not smoke and has the original white plastic and the black plastic mud flap deal. Also he got a new original black mud flap in the plastic. The 85 ran fine but something in the head broke or wore out I'm told. The owner said it needs a cam and rockers. Is the engine worth fixing? Is it worth anything as it is? What are the black plastic mud flaps worth? It also has a chrome grab bar that looks like its supposed to carry a cooler. I may have photos soon.

Is a 350x engine worth fixing?... Um, yes!! Lol. Really need to see some pictures of the damage to give an accurate idea of value.

Ok then. I see one for $275 in good condition on ebay. Also he said there is an aluminum trailer hitch that looks like a factory accessory. Anyone heard of that?

I went over to look at this stuff and he has decided to have me help him sell some of the parts. There is almost every part of the 1985 that will be sold. I looked at the engine and the only visible damage is the rockers are worn. The engine is very clean and has not been painted. The wire harness is all there. the rear shock will be for sale separately, it has the gold adjustment knob which I read means its from a 1986, is this correct? The rear hitch is a very thick aluminum bracket that is 2 pieces that clamp around the rear carrier. There is a nice stock exhaust that will be painted with 500 degree black. Complete front end. white plastic front and rear in cracked rider condition. complete front headlight with one cracked lens. There will be 2 rear mud guards, one new in plastic and one used with no damage. A nice gas tank with no decals. a 1986 seat with some damage. complete brakes. The 1985 frame looks good. I know there are places that are prone to cracking but I don't know where to look. There are also 1985-86 250R rear wheels that cleaned up to almost perfect condition. The 1986 complete bike will likely be for sale soon but he is fixing the things that are easy and necessary to make it a good solid bike (brakes, tires etc) I will have much better pics soon.
