Well more of completely going through the entire bike. This was my first trike that I ever owned. Bought it back in 09 so I'm sorta attached to it. Here is what I have so far. Front and rear axle bearings, front and rear carbon fiber look frnders, ner tank scoops, swinger pivot bearings, tapered neck bearings, new cables, Barnett dirt digger clutch and springs, win cycles carb, complete gaskit set, rear caliper rebuild kit, custom decals, and a new seat cover. What I still need. Piston kit going with a wiesco 65.50mm 10.25 to 1, front and rear master cylinder rebuild kit, front caliper rebuild kit, head light and brake light bulbs, and a couple spark plugs. Here are some pics of where the bike sets so far.

Oh yeah and it turns out that the headlight guard that I thought didn't fit. Does fit well it didnt but with a lil bit of convincing it does. Lol

Yeah I know. But that's what happens when you leave for the military and no one back home covers up your three wheeler when it gets pushed outside. The foam is still good thank god.

Me to. But on a sad note my swinger pivot bolt is stuck. Yay for more work than anticipated.

Are you going to replace the seat cover? Mrs.Mosh can make you seat look like OEM new again but you prob already know that.

I will get a mosh seat cover eventually. But for the time being I got one off of eBay that is a blue and white carbon fiber looking material.

More parts came in today. Custom decals, seat cover and rear caliper rebuild kit. I still need to paint my tank before I can install the tank decals but hopefully I will get the rest of the decals and seat cover on in the next couple days.

Here are some crappy cell phone pics I took while working on it last night. In the pic of the hubs you see why I will have to cut my rear axle. Its all hood tho I got one after about three years of searching for a good on. This build has been a long time coming.

Got some time today to work on the old girl. Getting a little ahead of myself but decided to put the decals on the fenders. I think they look great. Decals were made by pantera1975. He does fantastic work.

Here you go dougspcs got a new shiny seat cover installed. I got tired of looking at that nasty old one. It kept reminding me of the care my family felt my 200x deserved.

give me your thoughts on the decals and know the seat cover is for the time being and not a permanent thing.

Decals look good! Going to be a sweet trike. Always wanted an 86.

As far as the seat cover, glad it's temporary. I always prefer OEM look.

Wat did you use as the protector for the kickstart so it doesn't rub on the plastic?

I love the carbon fiber look and how the texture of that seat cover matches it very well.

Those decals are impressive and totally sets off the whole rear fender assmbly.

I PM`ed pantera1975 for a set of those myself.

Wow I can't believe its been this long since I have been on here.

Honda3 I used the OEM kick start rubber thing. Just had to drill holes in the fender and pop it in.

As for where my baby is setting right now. Well its not gone much farther than last time I posted. Reason is I am now stationed at Lajes field Azores Portugal. Its in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. This island is beautiful and I will be posting a bunch of pics in the open forum for you to enjoy. My trike is still back in north dakota setting on a couple different shelves. I can not wait to get back and finish it up. Got all the parts I need just need to get the powdercoating done and have the cylinder bored.

Don't forget LH threads on the crank! and those clutch kits may have springs with the fibers but you have to order the steel plates separately....

Ok I know everybody has their opinion on what the best tire is but I'm gonna ask any way. I can't decide on what type of tires to get for my x. Front will be stock size rim and rear will either be stock 9's or I might run my 10 inch rims. I want a tire that will do good in mud/snow ride good on hard pack and be a decent trail tire.

This might be asking a lot out of one tire but hey a guy can hope right.

I really wish kenda still made the dirt dogs. Love that tire.

Been at this project way to long. But anyway making a bit more progress. Got it mostly disassembled, all but the bottom end. Engine is still on the stock bore and looks fantastic but in going with a .50 over 10.50 to 1 piston to make a lil bit more power. Plan on having this all wrapped up by Christmas. Going to be running a full set of 86 350x rims and the fast trekkers on the rear. Had to cut the swingarm bolt out as well as the rear axle. Wish me luck.

+1 on having onformula1 rebuild your forks and shock, he has been helping me with my Ohlins shock and Simons forks and he has been fantastic to work with. Friendly and knowledgeable.

Bill has the molds now. Bill....Uhmmmmmm, IDK, one of the good Bills or Billys. The guy with a farm and I believe a dealership. A family he does allot for.

I haven't been here much and forget his handle but he started a few donations for people that needed help.

As for the forks and most of the rest of the bike, I'm wanting to do as much of the work myself. Mainly because this was my first trike and it really means a lot to me. Things that will need to go to someone will be the jug for bore/hone, the rear shock and the crank if it needs it.

It's not that I don't trust people with my parts. It's that when it's done I want to look at my trike and think I did that. If I had the knowledge/ capability to do the other stuff I would.

Good progress. I'm kinda doing the same thing. You can search some of my posts on my progress. My axle hub was also welded to the axle but only one side. Luckily I was able to slide it out to change the bearings, which were bad of course. I have a few bolts here and there to find but almost complete with it. Takes a lot of time and patience.

problem with suspension is there are ways to make it 1000Xs better that you do not know about and not doing certain things or replacing certain parts can actually make them worse. suspension design is an art. Good luck to ya, but I believe for not much more than your going to spend is just parts he could rebuild the forks and shock for ya.

You ever want to have some cash, I'm interested in another set of old style Trekkers. Are those 20's on 9" rims?

RDH/86200X
11-01-2015, 01:22 AM
They are 20's on 9 inch 86 350x rims. Using those and a 86 350x front for this build.
