83 200x spark arrester

I am wanting to start riding on some locol trails and noticed I need a spark arrester. We're can I get an eom one or is there any kind of aftermarket tip I can get:wondering

This is a stock pipe
Does anyone one know what the hole is on the bottom of the pipe is is it supposed to be there?

I have a 1983 200X, My stock muffler has no hole in it. It does have a spark arrester as it came from the factory.

can't see 2 well but some of mine have a 2 bolt cover that is for cleaning crud out of the end of the muff.
can you click on:

?
If it says forest service approved
or similar on the muffler, you should be ok to ride in this weather.
If dry and scary, I'd get it right.
Aftermarket?
I think I screwed in a 3/4" lawnmower muffler in a desparate attempt to ride last summer.
Looked stupid but saved the day of riding.

I looked at my muffler the spark arrester is held in with two screws on the end. The two holes in the photo of the end of your muffler is where the stock spark arrester attaches.
Check eBay, you might find one there.

I am not to worried about the fire hazard but a lot of the parks around here say it is required.

I have a 86 fourtrax trx200sx and it has basically the same spark arrestor and it has the same hole on the bottom of the pipe but it has been welded up. Why? Is there something missing that covers that hole?
