I was there last year, I was there on my trx250r. I was climbing some of those hills, others were too steep, it was cool though. Me and my friend came there from shamokin, we rode about a 1/2 hour to get there. Rode around for about two hours, when I got back to the truck, I had about a gallon on gas left(out of a 4 gallon tank). It was very cool. they are alot steeper than they look.

my old stomping grounds.. the prob with coal is that it tears the crap out of yr bike, and it gets slick at the top of the hills! :-P :-P

....hillclimbs are what seperates the men from the boys!!

... and a dirt bike climbing 75 to 85 degree walls with the last 8 feet being 90 degrees or past  and launching skyward off the top will make you all look like a bunch of sissies! :D

That's hill climbing. I'm sure those hills are harder than they look. ATV hill climbing is allot different in my opinion. Hills are much more intimidating when your setting at the base of them and looking up than looking at a picture on the computer.

That does like like a killer place to ride!

It's nice to see my hometown in pictures, and a lot of people ride their. Please, if you come from out of the area, don't ride on the roads, and don't trash the area where you park!! I know it's not a state park, but it's my hometown and my riding area. A lot of people are comming in to the area to ride. I really don't mind, but just please respect the town and the land owners. And if you wreck, please don't sue the land owners, and don' t mess with the equipment that is still at some active mining operations in the area!! Thanks, and I know 99% of you are decent and respectfull riders, it's only the 1% that ruin it.

03 Orange Shee, I really don't appreciate the advertising. Like I said in my last post, I have a feeling this area is just going to get overrun by too many riders. I mean, you're from VA coming all the way here to ride. Like I said, it's usually only the 10% who are causing trouble, but if pretty soon you get a 100 or so riders in your backyard in Strasburg, people are soon going to trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. Please don't take offense to this, but I live, work, and play here. Back in October on one nice wekend day I can't count all the quads that I saw fly up the main street in town. And Sunday AM when I'm in church, all you here is the bikes and machines screaming up and down the coal banks. Like I said before, I'm an avid rider too, just please respect the town and landowners if you do ride around here. Yes,it is a great place to ride, someday I hope a club or something can organize so it's legal, kinda like Tower City Trail Riders do on those old stripping lands. So peace out people, and I hope i didn't offend anyone, just giving thoughts from my perspective. Have fun, ride safe, and police up after yourselves!!

what do you mean  ,denny ,the site owner of the banshee zone is a friend of mine, met him in shamokin while riding, and said "look at the pics on my site sometime",there also pics someone alse posted on that "pa riding" site,im not the only one that posts pics of a fun place to ride, sorry if someone got mad,but though i'd post a great place to visit! i only ride there to go someplace different ,and a change of scenery from flat fields and woods,i wont care if people came here to ride as long as they respect the land, and the owners like speedracer says

There are some sick hillclimbs where I live in Washington. The hills slope up madly, from like 5 to 75 degrees like a jump. The ground is like chalk it is so white. Pretty fun to hit them going 40-45. I almost didn't make it one time  almost lost it when one of them hit vertical. No wonder there are no tracks at the top :-D lol. It was one hell of a sweet hill. Like a plateau at the top, and you can see the whole valley, if you can get to the top. I'm going to Moses Lake dunes tmrw. Gotta try t climb some dunes on a 400ex. 8)

hey speedracer350x

There has been tons of people riding dem strippens for many years. I met people up there from all over. Yes It might get loud if you live down by the old lumber company. But don't forget one thing more people that go there they gots to spend money some place so your local economy is increased. Also some of us go to church on another day cause on the 7th day GOD made 3 wheelers. So with repect I ride on Sunday.

Yes I do agree with repect you riding area. Cause when you disrepect it, it could be gone.

Like I said, I didn't mean to offend anyone, and yes, people have been riding those stripppings for years. All I ask is like everyone already knows, just respect each other and the town. In my opinion, I've never seen so many riders up their in all my years, and I ride/hunt up their since 85. It's just the odds, seems the more people, the more chance for something dumb to happen. Peace out dudes!!!
