Hello guys. I have a 1986 350x. I am getting ready to go on a trip and I went to take a couple test drives on this bike which I have not rode too many times. Is does not seem to have as much power as I remembered. I cleaned the carb and replaced thr plug for thr first time. Thr plug only threaded halfway in and by thr thr look of the old one it did the same.- guessing there is some cabon builup in lower half of threads now. I made sure brake were not locked up. I'm not super familiiar with this model of three wheeler. It idles and starts good as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First and foremost, Figure out why your plug won't thread in correctly....

I re-tapped the threads and cleaned out the cyclinder. Tomarrow I will see if that made the difference I'm looking for- it had to be done anyhow

Do a compression test.

If it hasn't been ridden in a long time, check airbox and exhuast for mouse nests. Maybe you have a restriction, which is cutting your power output.

What was the situation with the spark plug? Did you actually pull the entire head off to clean the threads? Was it carbon fouling up the threads?

What I determined is that the last guy only put the plug in halfway or it rattled halfway out and probably rode it that way for year and when I went to put in a new plug I could only thread it in as far as the old one was because carbon had coated the exposed inner threads. I just ran a tap though it and cleaned up the threads. I fired it up today and let it warm up for a while before I rode it and it hauls as. Thnks for the replys.
