what year is a red kawasaki 110?

Just got a kawi 110 red in color. what year is it? cant find it any where on trike. also it says made in U.S.A.? is that true? dosent seem right but just wondering. This lady won this trike in Laughlin NV on a quarter slot but couldn't remember what year. kinda odd story.

You cannot base the year off of the color. If it has no front suspension it is a 1984 and if it does it could be a 1985/1986 although much more likely that it would be a 1985 than a 1986. That is the easiest way to tell without going into too much detail. Most often you find 1984's in red and 1985's in black.

Thanks...it is red and has front suspension needs tires on rear. got it for free with a trashed out 200x that runs but just about everything on it is broke or baked from the az sun

Also 86 would have different mud flaps. 2 in the front are 85' 110's. Notice the "flimsy" rear mud flaps. The 2 in behind them are both 86' 185s with hard plastic rear mud flaps. If it's an 86 110 it would have those hard plastic ones as well as they shared the same fender for that year. And I'll second ebaccm26 in that an 84 would be solid forks.

there are only fragments of rear flaps under bolts but they seem to be flimsy so I assume its an 85. either way if those r the only differences then I can buy parts for either year so my ? is answered. thanks to u guys for response.

I would say 1985 if the tank badges look like this (and it has front suspension and a black seat with no stripes):

Dude, pull the tank off that and see if tag is still on frame telling what model. That has 86 plastics (graphics & trunk lid)! Sure it's a 110? Is this chain drive or shaft drive. Chain drive = 110. Shaft drive = 160 or 185.

Staring at your pic a little longer there is no reverse knob coming out of the handlebar cover. Best guess is you got yourself an 86 based on the graphics and rear fender with trunk lid.

Definitely appears to be a 1986 110. Pretty uncommon in my experience, nice find.

190840190841pulled the tank......no tag under there. this has a tag that say klt110a but has no year anywhere on trike. also says made in U.S.A.

My 185's both have a "sticker" type decals with info on the backbone under the tank as well as the one on the neck.

both of those decals are on neck but one is rubbed where it says date.

No numbers after letter on the tag. just says klt110A and made in U.S.A.

What is the 10th digit on the VIN stamped into the steering head? If I've read the "decoder"site correctly if it is a "F" it's an 85 if it's a "G" it would be an 86.

G it is so 1986. Thanks mike appreciate the extra home work. Its nice to know the exact year and to hear its a little more uncommon is even better. getting seat recovered so it should be black correct? No stripes? also anyone have a new handle bar pad its alittle rotted.

No problem Jeremy. Sadly I probably know more about these trikes than any others.:rolleyes: Yes, all black seat. Don't know how "correct" you want it to be but to my knowledge other than one of the guys down in Australia there is no one making the cover with the "NO PASSENGER" impregnated into the rear of the seat. There is a NOS pad on feebay currently.

Yes There was the kawi 110, 1982 Suzuki 250, and a clapped out 200x that has a running motor but everything that could rot has. the other 2 run very good with a lil tlc. not lookin good for tf14 but ya never know. Had a great time out there for sure

is there any kind of high low range on the 86 kawi 110? it seems kind of slow. more power at low end

well I got some new tires on it and it runs a little slower than the Honda I think. My kid and I will do the beach drag test soon. running excellent and looks to be years of tuddleing to the river. Thanks again to all for info offered up.
