85 Honda ATC125M problems, Please help

Hello, we have a 85 Honda ATC 125 M.

When its jacked up in the air it runs thru all the gears. When it's put on the ground, there is a grinding noise when you put it in gear.

We appreciate all your tips, ideas and help.

I hear members mentioning a common problem with a "Drum Stop"?? associated with the transmission and shifting area. something to look into.

Hey nail,
I saw your post from a few days ago looking for a clutch lever and cable for the 125m.... I am going to guess (and correct me if I am wrong) that you recently bought it and the person you bought it off of said it needs a new clutch. It sounds to me like the problem you are having may be a worn out auto clutch.
