Looking at bringing a basket case from Ohio to ontario. About a hour west of Toronto. There's a 350x that needs work but that's ok. I can't find a 350x around here and want one.

Does anyone know how to go about getting shipped or have done something like this?

Thanks

It's gonna cost you a butt-load to ship..then there's the whole vehicle import or are you gonna have it in pieces and declare it as parts?

You'll never be able to license it in Ontario if you do.

Drive down, do a RIV import and bring it thru yourself..I could talk you they the process if you do it that way.

I'm going to get one from Michigan tomorrow..about my 20th import from Michigan. It's not tough!

No way I should pm you and try to hook up a deal or two. I want one of these machines but not paying Canadian prices

Sorry I don't import for others if that is what you mean.

I meant I'd explain the process so you could do it yourself more easily.

you have to be fast. but you can get a deal in Canada. or you can put ads up all around your area and as far as you are willing to drive be persistent it may take some time. i find winter is when i find and get deals but i keep my ads up all year you have a better chance getting what you want on a wanted ad. allot of what i buy if it ever got on the classified ad. id never get a chance to buy there are allot of guys scanning the net. list of things i bought this winter and spring
1996 honda 300 4x4 running driving $400
1994 honda 300 4x4 complete with ownership $400

at those prices you cant help but wonder........mmmmm hot or not. Like they say.......if its too good to be true.....it probably is for one reason or another. Not sayin your above machines are but.....did you do a check on any of them before you purchased

most have ownership's and or bill of sale. and of coarse i keep a paper trail, e-mails, phone#s google maps to there house etc. i know the game. if some a-hole sell's me a bad bike cops will be at there door. i even keep the info/copy's after i sell a bike just in case. you have to look out for yourself. the bikes i buy are fixer uppers some times you get a golden one cheap buy rare.

Doug what are you getting, maybe I need to go snatch it up before you cross the border lol. Just joking.

I sense possibly a tea bag lol. Nothing worse then someone you know snagging a deal before you get to it.

I tryed the post wanted ads but attract the flys and the 4000 plus guys. Hard to come by and very difficult it seems once you are in that bread of machines.

Boarder crossing seems to be the only option at the moment but not going to Williams port anytime soon

Hey Ohio members..help us out here. Did Ohio title trike back in the day?

The reason it's so easy for me to bring Michigan trikes to Canada is for the fact Michigan didn't and therefore Canada Customs does require me to have the title..just the bill of sale.

Help Troy out and speak up so I know how to help him if he does this import.

Thanks..

I'm from Indiana but have bought a couple Ohio bikes that had titles. So I think they originally did.

I wish I knew that Doug. Also most bought a 86 200x engine in a box with roller for 150. But didn't want to the hold up at the boarder after a nascar weekend last year

just make dang sure its got a tag on that bike before you hit the border. By tag i mean the government tag. If its missing...you aint goin anywhere my friend. I watched a guy trying to bring a motorbike back without a tag.......he truck was still at the border when i come back through 9 hrs later.

What happened to your buddy doesn't apply Reg..his bike must have been under 15 years old. As such things like emission, noise and safety compliance tags/documents must be present.

There are NO government restrictions on trike entering Canada..or any vehicle over 15 years of age.

Just have the proper papers (bill of sale and title if the state it was bought in requires it). Oh yeah..be sure the VIN can be read on the frame. If it's unreadable the gig is up..it's not coming home with you!

Sounds still pretty shaky.

Do you check vins before you go and buy it? My worry is showing up with a bill of sale at the boarder and get nailed with something. Unless you know the person it sounds like a gamble. My luck all will go wrong

I'm always clear with the seller on the phone when arranging to see a trike..

VIN must be readable or I'm not coming to look at it.
