125 engine with 175 carb and exhaust?

Im trying to get my 1982 yt125 running. I didnt have the top cap that screws onto the carb for the 125 so Im using a spare 1983 yt175 carb. but the needle and float is from the 125 since those were missing. I put the jet needle up to the first groove to lean it out. I also turned the air screw out 2. Has anybody used a similar combination with decent results? The 125 didnt come with the exhaust so im gonna cut and weld the 175 exhaust from the donor bike. Any help or advice would be cool. I build cars but I dont much about these 2 stroke engines.:wondering

I dont plan on using the fuel pump from the 175 either. Prob too much for a 125.
